Bahawalpur ( PR) A regular Dars e Quran has been started in the mosques of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in connection with the holy month of Ramazan. This activity has been initiated on special direction of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor to apprise faculty and students about Quranic teachings in the holy month. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq on this occasion said in his message that Pakistan is an Islamic ideological state and spread of Islamic teachings is our religious duty. A large number of faculty members and students are attending daily dars e Quran after taravih prayers in Jamia Masajid Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus and Jamia Masjid, Abbasia Campus.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Punjab Police has initiated a process to establish
Citizen Police liaison committees on the model of CPLC Bahawalpur throughout
Punjab. Inspector General Police Punjab has directed all RPOs; CPOs; CCPOs and
DPOs to provide their conceptual and technical input to operationlize the CPLCs
on the foot-prints of Bahawalpur Citizen Police Liaison committee. This has
been communicated to the police high-ups in a circular issued in this regard.
"Under the dedicated and committed oversight of
RPO Bahawalpur DR. Ehsan Sadiq, Citizen Police Liaison committee through its
sustained and effective community policing endeavor has managed to scale down
the incidence of crimes at the lowest level in Bahawalpur range during the last
decade. The incidence of crime stood at 31994 in the year 2006 which gradually
started declining during the preceding years and the incidence of crime got
drastically declined and consequently:- it stood at 26165", A report
regarding incidence of crimes maintained.
The reduction of more than 5829 crimes in 2015 in
comparison to the quantum of crimes committed in 2016 is a practical
manifestation of the crime free vision through the joint collaboration of
police range Bahawalpur and CPLC Bahawalpur.
CPLC Bahawalpur had achieved this well-coming performance
of scaling down the quantum of crimes by organizing various workshops;
symposiums and seminars for enhancing capacity building of police officers and
Victim Response officers throughout the region. CPLC Bahawalpur took vide
ranging and result oriented initiatives to organize town hall meetings between
citizens; NGOs; Academia and opinion leaders with police officials which turned
the vision of community policing into practical reality in Bahawalpur police
range.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has directed the concerned officials to devise a comprehensive mechanism to ensure the supply of fresh vegetables and fruits at agriculture fair price shops twice a day at all the 12 Ramzan Bazars in district Bahawalpur. He issued these directions during a surprise visit at Ramzan Bazar at Headrajkhan.
"All available resources must be mobilized by the
incharges of the agriculture fair price shops of the Ramzan Bazars to ensure high
quality, hygienic and fresh fruits and vegetables at concessionary prices to
extend maximum economic relief to the consumers at the Ramzan Bazars in
district Bahawalpur", he underlined.
District Co-ordination Officer Dr. Ehtisham Anwer
Mahaar inspected the concessionary price regime and the quality of food stuff
available at different stalls established at the Ramzan Bazar which include the
stalls of:- kitchen items; meat; chicken; fruits; vegetables and soft drinks.
He also checked the record of supply and demand of different food items to
check the availability and to ensure sustainable supply of these essential
items to the consumers.
District Co-ordination Officer thoroughly inspected
all arrangements regarding extending security cover; cleanliness and
stream-lining the free flow of traffic in the vicinity of the Ramzan Bazar.
Assistant Commissioner Yazman Shakil Ahmad briefed the
District Co-ordination Officer about different measures adopted at Ramzan Bazar
to provide economic relief to the consumers.

PEF directs partners abut anti-dengue
measures
LAHORE(PR)Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation
(PEF) Tariq Mahmood has said that instructions of the Punjab government with
regard to eradication of dengue should be fully implemented so that clean and healthy
atmosphere could be ensured in offices as well as in partnering schools.
Rain-water should be timely drained out. PEF is committed to ensure that clean
and conducive atmosphere is arranged for the students in schools so that they
could study in healthy atmosphere, he added.
He was presiding over weekly coordination
meeting of program directors at his office on Wednesday. He said that Punjab
government is fully committed to combat this deadly disease and foundation is steadfastly
abiding by the instructions of the government. Partner schools are repeatedly instructed
about adopting anti-dengue measures in their institutions.
The meeting reviewed the expansion timelines
of different free education programs and observed that regular expansions have
helped to ensure access to education by the needy students. It is satisfying
that total number of PEF beneficiaries has risen to more than two million with
45 percent girls.
Tariq Mahmood further said that PEF is playing
an important role in achieving the goals of ‘Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab’ as 100 percent enrolment is planned by
the year 2018. This access to education will definitely help the needy communities
to improve their quality of life. On the other hand, information and communication
technologies have been a great help to smoothly run and expand the organizational
systems.
