BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad
Iqbal Channer has said that Punjab Government has planned to spend 25 billion
and 397 million on road sector under its medium term development framework. He
made these remarks while inspecting different on-going road constructing
schemes in different areas which include: - Halqa Baqirpur, Saahlan, Jhok Rahim
Bukhsh in district Bahawalpur.
Mr. Iqbal Channer further said that under medium term
development framework Rs. 7 billion and 900 million in the fiscal year 2016-17,
Rs. 8 billion and 500 million in fiscal year 2017-18 and Rs. 9 billion in the
fiscal year 2018-19 would be spent to construct a modern and efficient road
network in the Punjab province.
"As many as Rs. 4 billion on new road
construction schemes while Rs. 3 billion and 800 million have been earmarked
for on-going road construction schemes in the Punjab province", Minister
Malik Iqbal Channer maintained.
Mr. Iqbal Channer also said that a modern road
infrastructure has been envisioned in which the roads having width of 20 feet
would be expanded to that of 25 feet which have the road load of 800 vehicles
per day while those roads which have the road load of 8000 vehicles per day
would be upgraded to 2 way transport arteries in the province.
Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer said
that this road up-gradation and modernization process would meet the transport
and communication demands of the modern age.
During inspection of the projects the Minister Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer was accompanied by Malik Ejaz Channer; Malik Mushtaq
Channer; Haji Rahim Bukhsh Channer; Malik Waqas Channer and a large number of
notables.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur has said
that to curb the menace of adulteration health department Bahawalpur has been
provided anti-adulteration kits to enhance its technical expertise to check the
incidence of adulteration in the food stuff. He made these remarks while
talking to the Media person at his conference room Yesterday .
The meeting was attended by Director Public Relations
& Resident Director Bahawalpur Arts Council Rana Ajaz Mahmood; Additional
district collector Imrana Ajmal; Acting district officer co-ordination Rao
Tasleem Akhter; District health officer Dr. Zeeshan Rauf; different Media
representatives and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
"Modern anti-adulteration kits purchased by
spending 2 lakh and 37 thousand would enable the anti-adulteration field staff
to conduct chemical test of the food stuff particularly milk, ghee, cooking oil
and all other food stuff through these kits at all the 6 tehsils of the
district", he noted.
DCO further revealed that blood collection camps had
been established at all the 6 tehsils which include:- tehsil Bahawalpur City;
Tehsil Bahawalpur Sadar; tehsil Ahmadpur East; tehsil Hasilpur; tehsil Ahmadpur
east and tehsil Yazman for conducting medical test of the butchers to protect
the economic rights of the consumers.
Later, District health officer Dr. Zeeshan Rauf gave a
detailed briefing to the media persons regarding operational mechanism of the
kits.

Anwer Mahaar has said that district Bahawalpur has been divided into four
sectors for effective flood fighting arrangements. He made these remarks while
giving a briefing to selected Media persons regarding flood fighting arrangements at his
conference room yesterday .
The briefing was attended by Director Public Relations
& Resident Director Bahawalpur Arts Council Rana Ajaz Mahmood; acting
District Officer Co-ordination Rao Tasleem Akhter; Media persons and other
officers and officials of the concerned departments.
DCO said that the first sector Chanab covers tehsil
Ahmadpur east through 2 sub sectors which include:- Chanab I and Chanab II,
Satluj I covers tehsil Bahawalpur city, Satluj II is meant for Bahawalpur Sadar
while sector Satluj 3rd and 4th have been devised to cover tehsil Khairpur
Tamewali and Hasilpur respectively.
DCO further said that comprehensive and effective
flood fighting arrangements have been made by constituting a district flood
fighting sector co-ordination committee. The concerned Assistant Commissioner
of the tehsils has been designated as a focal person of this committee. The
sector co-ordination committee's members include:- local Parliamentarians,
representative of irrigation department, TMO, DSP, in-charge rescue 1122,
medical and Veterinary officers of concerned tehsils.
DCO further said that 300 rescue officials of rescue
1122 have been provided training through the Pak Army regarding water rescue
activities.
He further said that 2 Mock exercises have already
been conducted on May 2nd and June 1st which had the active participation of
the concerned officers and officials of the local administration, Pak Army,
police, Rangers, Rescue 1122, Civil defense, health department, Agriculture
department and live-stock department at river Satluj.
section 144 Imposed
BAHAWALPUR(PR)DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has banned
the entry of unconcerned persons under section 144 within the radius of 100
meters of all the examination centers for the M.COM supplementary examination
2015 of Islamia University Bahawalpur within the jurisdiction of district
Bahawalpur. This order has come into operation immediately.
Public awareness campaign would be launched regarding the achievements of
Punjab education Endowment fund
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Under the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, a
Public awareness campaign would be launched regarding the achievements of
Punjab education Endowment fund in the first week of August in the Punjab
Province.
Seminars in this regard would be held at Divisional
head quarters of the province. The divisional Commissioners have been
designated as focal persons for this program who would supervise the activities
in this regard.
