BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has urged upon
the concerned officials to sharpen the pace of development work on a
development package of 393 development schemes amounting to Rs. 15 billion and
800 million which are aimed to provide state of the art socio economic
infrastructure to ensure sustainable provision of decent civic amenities to the
citizens in Bahawalpur Division. He issued these directions while presiding
over a review meeting of Provincial annual development program in the 3 districts
of Bahawalpur Division, here, at his conference room, today. The meeting was
attended by Director Development Saqib Ali Ateel and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
The meeting was briefed that the Provincial annual
development program's total fiscal outlay stands at 15 billion and 800 million
rupees comprising of total number of development schemes which include: - 223
ongoing development schemes which have financial allocation of Rs. 12 billion
and 810 million and component of 170 new development schemes having financial
allocation amounting to Rs. 2 billion and 990 million.
The officials of the executing agencies apprised of the
meeting about the various measures undertaken to execute the development
projects and their different phases of completion and their constructive and
positive impact on the lives of the residents of respective areas where
development schemes are being constructed.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar urged upon the concerned
officials of the executing agencies to mobilize all available resources to
ensure the quality of the development work which should be completed within the
stipulated time fixed for their completion. He directed the concerned officials
that the contractors of the executing schemes should be directed to adhere to
the time line fixed for the completion of these socio economic development
program. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be initiated against
the officials and the contractors who were found involved in causing financial
loss to the public ex-checker.
All completed development schemes by the executing agencies
should immediately be handed over to the client department to ensure the socio
economic benefits to the people of Bahawalpur division.
DCO has imposed ban upon unauthorized organizations to
collect sacrificial hides on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer
Mahaar has said that ban has been imposed upon unauthorized organizations to
collect sacrificial hides on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. He made these remarks
while presiding over a high level meting to finalize the arrangements to
strictly implement the government directions on the prohibition of collecting
sacrificial hides on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha in Bahawalpur district.
"Under the Government directions establishing of
sacrificial hides collecting centers at public places, display of banners and panaflex
for this purpose and use of loud speakers stands strictly banned", DCO
noted.
He directed all concerned departments to sharpen their vigil
for the strict implementation of Government directions regarding ban for
collecting sacrificial hides by unauthorized agencies and organizations in
district Bahawalpur. He further said that section 144 would also be promulgated
in district Bahawalpur in this regard.
Rescue 1122 had start functioning at Hasilpur
BAHAWALPUR(PR)The newly established center of Punjab Emergency Service
Rescue 1122 had start functioning at Hasilpur from 12th of September. This

comprehensive disaster management plan on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha in Bahawalpur
Division. Special teams of rescue workers have been constituted to extend
rescue cover for the residents of Bahawalpur Division. This was stated by
Divisional Emergency Officer, rescue 1122, Dr. Asif Rahim Channer.
Health department Bahawalpur has constituted 1344 polio teams to administer polio drops
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Health department Bahawalpur has constituted a total number
of 1344 polio teams to administer polio drops to 5 lakh 97 thousand and 956
children during the 3 day polio eradication campaign which would start from
26th of September in district Bahawalpur. This was stated by EDO health Dr.
Shahid Khaleeq while giving briefing to the meeting of anti polio committee
which was held at the committee room of DCO Bahawalpur, here, today. The
meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners of Bahawalpur Division, District
Officer health Dr. Saeed Asghar, Representative of World Health Organization
Dr. Munir Jhandeer and other officers and officials of the concerned
departments.
"Out of total 1344 polio teams: - as many as 1062 teams
have been designated as mobile teams which would visit door to door in all the
5 tehsils of the district Bahawalpur while 150 teams have been termed as fixed
teams which would perform their duties in Bahawal Victoria Hospital, in all
Tehsil Head Quarter Hospitals and all Basic Health units of district
Bahawalpur. For ensuring extensive coverage 114 teams would be deputed at
public places which include: - Bus stands, Railway Stations and Toll Plazas.
Besides, 18 teams have been tasked to administer polio drops to the children at
Markets, Business centers and Shopping plazas", EDO maintained
