District and Session Judge Lodhran Bashir Ahmad Chaudhry paid a visit at
Borstle Institute and Juvenile Jail Bahawalpur. He gave
sympathetic hearing to the problems and grievances of the inmate children and
issued directions to resolve them.

paid a visit at Borstle Institute and Juvenile jail Bahawalpur.
During his visit DIG Muhammad Shaukat Feroz inspected kitchen, dining hall,
hospital and juvenile barracks of the jail. He also inspected ongoing
development works in the Borstle Institute and Juvenil Jail Bahawalpur. Later,
he had lunch along with inmates and officials of the jail.

food committee Bahawalpur conducted a raid at a cooking oil manufacturing
factory at Melay wali gali, Bahawalpur, which was manufacturing cooking oil by
utilizing fats of various animals and hens. The raids conducting team took into
custody 500 liter unhygienic cooking oil which was later destroyed. The factory
was sealed while 2 accused Muhammad Aamir and Jamil Ahmad have been booked and
arrested by Police Station Baghdad. This was stated by District Coordination
Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar while giving a press briefing at
his committee room, here, today. The briefing was attended by Additional
District Collector & Director district food committee Nosheen Malik,
Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City Rao Tasleem Akhter, District Officer
Health Dr. Zeeshan Rauf, Print and Electronic Media representatives and other
officers and officials of the concerned departments.

Coordination Officer Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar highly appreciated the
achievements of the raid conducting team which busted a cooking oil factory
which was playing with the lives of the consumers by manufacturing highly
unhygienic and sub standard cooking oil. Later, Assistant Commissioner
Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter briefed the Media persons that 4 bags filled
with the fats of animals and other cooking oil manufacturing material have been
taken into custody.

Health officer Dr. Zeeshan Rauf and Additional District Collector &
Director District food committee Nosheen Malik also spoken on the occasion.
They maintained that members of district food committee conducted raids at
pickle factory at Ahmadpur East and police has registered criminal case against
8 accused at Police Station Ahmadpur East. They further maintained that during
the current month members of district food committee has conducted as many as 450
raids and sealed 10 food points and also imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 6
lac to the violators.

PEF starts final
phase of PSSP
LAHORE(PR)Punjab Education Minister
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that overall improvement in education sector
is the priority agenda of the government. In this regard, provision of missing facilities
is especially taken care of along with provision of quality education so that
the students could be best groomed as future leaders. On the other side, overall
infrastructure of the public sector schools is also being improved so that the
students could study in conducive atmosphere.
He was addressing the
meeting at Punjab Education Foundation head office on Wednesday. Chairman PEF
Qamar ul Islam Raja, Managing Director Tariq Mahmood, Incharge PSSP/ Secretary
Primary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan, Deputy Managing Directors of PEF, Director (PSSP)
Sidra Saleem and others attended the meeting.
While addressing the
meeting, Rana Mashhood said that public school support program is an important
achievement in providing free quality education to the students in the province.
The first two phases of the PSSP have shown positive results, he added. It is
important to note that increase in enrollment has been witnessed in PSSP
partner schools, he added. This shows strong confidence of the people over the
educational reforms of the Punjab government. He said that improvement of
primary schools has also been prioritized and added that billion of rupees have
been spent on the development of physical infrastructure of public sector
schools. He pointed out that annual budget of school education department has
been increased to Rs. 315 billion and this amount is 36 percent more than the
corresponding year’s budget. The Minister further said that one thousand
monthly stipend has been given to four lakh girls in the southern districts of
the province. He further said that IT has already been introduced in the public
sector schools; adding that it is an important step towards bringing digital
revolution. This will also guide the students to find their destinations by
exploring new avenues in their fields.
Chairman PEF Qamar ul
Islam said that total number of students in PEF partner schools in 36 districts
has reached to 25 lakh. 45 percent of them are girls; this shows that our girls
have great interest in learning and education. MD PEF Tariq Mahmood said that
the foundation has provided free quality education to the deserving male and
female students at their doorsteps. We are the best hope of low-income families
as PEF partner schools are available in their close proximity. He said that different
aspects of the PSSP have been chosen for study by different organizations to
evaluate its effectiveness in meeting educational needs of the local
communities at the grassroots. Earlier, Incharge PSSP Ali Jan Khan said in his presentation
that a total of 113.6 percent increase in enrollment has been witnessed in PSSP
partner schools and maintained that this proves communities strong trust over
this program.
