Cholistan Development Authority & Provincial Minister for cooperative Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that Punjab government is fully committed to
mobilize all available resources to extend decent socio economic cover to the
residents of Cholistani area in Bahawalpur Division which is practically
reflected by finalizing the process of allotting 12.5 acres of agricultural
land to as many as 14926 deserving peasants purely on the merit based policy.
He made these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting at the
conference room of commissioner Bahawalpur. The meeting was
attended by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, MNA Begum Perveen
Masood Bhatti, MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja, Secretary Colonies Chaudhry Muhammad
Ilyas, MD Cholistan Development Authority Naeem Iqbal Bukhari, Assistant
Commissioner General Syed Waseem Hassan, SE Punjab Highways Mohsin Shakoor, SE
Public Health Engineering Javed Akhter, Conservator of Forest department Faisal
Haroon, EDO agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad, District Accounts Officer Muhammad
Iqbal Tahir and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
"Government
would establish girls degree college and Vocational training institute in
Cholistan which would sharpen the pace of socio economic progress and
development by imparting state of the art knowledge and skill to the youth of
Cholistani area", Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar
maintained.
He
further said that to turn Chief Minister Punjab's vision of sustained and
accelerated socio economic relief to the youth special quota at Danish schools,
Medical Colleges and engineering Universities has been reserved for Cholistani
students.
The
meeting had detailed deliberation to establish financial, technical and
advisory committee of Cholistan Development Authority. The meeting also decided
to make permanent the 54 work charge employees and recruiting new 57 employees
in Cholistan Development Authority.
The
meeting decided that Lady Doctors and female paramedics along with mobile
health units would extend an effective medical cover to the Cholistani
residents in general and women in particular.
The
meeting also decided to establish a separate Directorate of education to
further boost the educational cover for the Cholistani people.
DCO imposed section 144
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer and
Administrator Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar has banned the entry of
unconcerned persons, Guide books, solved papers, helping books and material
under section 144 within the radius of 100 meters of examination centers
established for M.com first year, B.A and B.Sc annual examinations 2016 of
Islamia University Bahawalpur. This order has come into effect immediately.
AC City imposed a fine on various Hotels, Sweet shops,
Bakers and food outlets
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city and authorized officer
of Punjab consumer protection council inspected various Hotels, Sweet shops,
Bakers and food outlets and imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 1 lac and 10
thousand for selling sub standard, faulty and expired food stuff to the
consumers.
