BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that positive and constructive role of Media is vital to ensure sustainable inter sectarian harmony, societal tranquility and comprehensive peace in our society during the sacred days of Aashura Muharram. He made these remarks while addressing a press conference held at the conference room of Commissioner Bahawalpur. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar and Director Public Relations Rana Ajaz Mahmood and a large number of Media Persons were present on this occasion.

"Media persons vibrant, vigorous and effective role has hugely contributed to shape the narrative of peace which has cemented inter sectarian harmony, brotherhood and this role of Media in promoting the culture of peace is our glorious asset", Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer noted.

Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer maintained that Media would maintain its glorious tradition to promote peace and tranquility during the Aashura Moharram. He further said that for effective implementation of security plan and municipality services during Aashura Moharram, Government attaches special significance to the constant input and vibrant guidance of the Media.

Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer further said that he would personally monitor the security arrangements for Azadari processions and Azadari Majalis.

While responding to a question Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer said that elected representatives and Chairman of Union Councils would also play their role along-with other stake holders for ensuing peace during Aashura Moharram.

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar while talking to Media on this occasion said that security arrangements and other relevant measures have been finalized for as many as 1400 Majalis Aza and 516 Aashura processions in Bahawalpur Division. He further said that control rooms at Divisional and district level have also been established for the implementation of the security plan. Commissioner Saqib Zafar maintained that arrangements have also been finalized for sustainable supply of information by ensuring the presence of focal persons of Media at these control rooms. He stressed the need of proper verification of facts by the Media Persons through the facility of control room and concerned focal persons of the administration for ensuring factual reporting of the events during Aashura Moharram.

During the Press Conference the Media persons presented various proposals for ensuring peace during Aashura Moharram. Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer and Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar welcomed their proposals and thanked the Media persons for their constructive and positive input in this regard.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has said that all available resources should  be mobilized to resolve various problems faces by the peasant community which is aimed to streamline the agriculture sector to ensure solid and vibrant agro economy. He made these remarks while presiding over a meeting of Divisional Agricultural Advisory Committee at his conference room. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner coordination Syed Waseem Hassan, EDO agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad, officers of different wings of agriculture department, representatives of bank and Sugar Mills, member of Kisan Board Jam Hazoor Bukhsh, Faheem Ahmad and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar directed the concerned officials of the agriculture department to update the land use for agricultural purposes.

"Effective and solid measures should also be taken by the concerned quarters for the wide spread to ensure the implementation of mechanized agriculture which would boost agro economy and sharpen the pace of extending socio economic cover to the peasants", He noted.

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar emphasized the need to make divisional agricultural advisory committee's forum effectively functional and productive by ensuring sustainable input from the peasant community. He also directed the officials of Irrigation department to check the theft of Irrigation water.

All available resources should be mobilized to organize training courses to enhance the capacity building of the peasants along-with rapidly completing the development projects in the field of agriculture. Earlier, officials of the agriculture and irrigation departments briefed the meeting about various measures taken to extend different facilities to the peasants by their respective departments.

During the meeting member of Kisan Board Jam Hazoor Bukhsh and member of divisional agricultural advisory committee Faheem Ahmad presented various proposals to modernize the agriculture sector.
