ENCROACHMENT IS LIKE FATAL SCOURGE
Encroachments are like a cancer for every city of Pakistan, the
roots of which are so deep having strong underground contacts. Due to
this menace; ugly look of cities seems to be an illetrate society having
no civic sense in the residents and is a major hurdle in the
beautification and prosperity of every city of our country; but today
especially, here, i am talking / concerning about Bahawalpur city,
In my opinion, it is essential need of present era to supplant the
roots of this disease.
The longstanding but
ignored demand of citizens of Bahawalpur city, to Honorable Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Mr.Saqib Zafar & DCO Bahawalpur Dr.Ehtasham
Anwar Mahar, that where they both pious and well reputed officials are
striving hard day & night on the beautification of our city, but
besides this they should focus & arrange to eliminate the
encroachments during their tenure.
Although it
seems quite impossible because, whenever , any well reputed official
who in power, take initiative measures for removal of encroachments, at
once underground political leaders, MPA's/MNA's & leaders of
Association of Traders (ANJUMAN-E-TAJRAN) accelerate their efforts to
stop working on the encroachments by forced transfers of officials etc
etc.
Earlier DCO Bahawalpur Dr.Ehtasham Anwar
Mahar had started intense action against encroachment mafia, but after
taken few steps suddenly MR.DCO adopt silence for unknown reason over
this issue & leave it as it is.
Now the
situation is increasing with the co-operation of Corrupt Mafia of TMA
Bahawalpur city, there is plenty of new encroachments in the areas of
Circular Road and downtown markets of Bahawalpur city besides the
markets of inside Farid Gate, Chowk Bazar & Shahi Bazar has become
a long single line instead of wide markets.
The
Handcarts/vendors Mafia completely occupied place to place. The
shopkeepers have even rented out the places of front area of their shops
as a SUBLET on heavy payments (PAGRI), these activities related to
encroachments are smoothly running with the cooperation of the leaders
of Association of Traders (Anjuman tajran). On the other hand Circular
Road has been hijacked by Cycle Stand & Motorcycle Mafia since long,
due to these type of illegal stands on the road side besides there is
plenty of different types of Vehicles in Bahawalpur city, it is very
difficult to traverse between heavy traffic and also difficulties for
pedestrians, especially during school timings of children, opening and
closing of offices and heavy traffic rush observed at various
locations.
Now in this context, I would like
to suggest that strict action should be taken against the officials of
Corrupt TMA City Bahawalpur Mafia whom never been transferred or rotated from
their duties and working on same position since long they should
immediately transferred and there is in dire need of clean up operation
in city against culprits without any relaxation and recommendations of
political powers and if anybody who creating encroachment either common
people or trader that should be heavy penalized on the spot and their
cases should be referred to Honorable court for punishments. By the
enforcement of law in real manners the Motor Cycle / Cycle stands should
immediately be removed.
Present DCO Bahawalpur is well reputed official and also dedicated to work and dead against corruption.
I
would like to request to MR.DCO that kindly make neat and clean our Bahawalpur
city by taking their personal interest to cleaner and widened through
removal of encroachments from downtown markets and Circular Road areas
and also create permanent police check post in the inside Chowk Bazar
for the relief of citizens.
