Massive tree plantation campaign began at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur (PR) A massive tree plantation campaign in connection with Prime Minister’s Green Pakistan Programme began at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The Estate Care department has started this tree plantation drive on direction of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor to plant 10,000 trees across the IUB campuses. Ch. Khalid Mehmood Jajja, Parliamentary Secretary, Irrigation Punjab along with Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the campaign at Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. He said that Pakistan is among the countries hit hardest by climate change and the initiative by the Prime Minister to plant 105 million trees under Green Pakistan Programme will not only pave the way for the socio economy development of the country but also help cope with climate change disasters. It is encouraging and great example of others to follow that the campaign has been implemented at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur through active participation of faculty and students under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor on this occasion said that 1575 pomegranate have been planted on first day of the campaign and fruit trees are selected for this purpose which will be a good addition for the university in terms of financial benefits. The Vice Chancellor added that 74% of the area in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus which was barren and non-utilized is being leveled for cultivation and till now 76 acres of land has been reclaimed. He appreciated the efforts of estate care division making university campuses, beautiful and environment friendly.

                BAHAWALPUR(PR)Senior Civil Judge Bahawalpur Alim Sher distributed cricket sports kits and track suits among the members of cricket team of district judiciary Bahawalpur for the cricket match which is scheduled to be played in connection with the sesquicentennial celebrations of Lahore High Court Lahore between teams of district judiciary and district bar at 10:00 AM on 13^th of November at dring stadium Bahawalpur.

                The members of the team of district judiciary Bahawalpur include:- team captain Senior Civil Judge Syed Jahangir Ali, Additional District and Session Judge Naveed Bari, Civil Judge Masood Ahmad Faridi, Civil Judge Rana Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Civil Judge Ayaz Mahmood, Civil Judge Farooq Ahmad, Civil Judge Ahmad Badar Munir, Civil Judge Salah-ud-din yasir, Civil Judge Muhammad Rafiq, Civil Judge Alim Zia, Civil Judge Shakeel Ahmad, Civil Judge Muhammad Shakeel Ashraf, Civil Judge Fakhar Bashir and Judicial Magistrate Nayyar Mustafa.

               BAHAWALPUR(PR)  The Rescuers of divisional emergency service rescue 1122 Bahawalpur had set an extremely appreciable example of honesty by handing over an amount to the tune of Rs. 7 lac, 2 Kilogram Silver and 10 gram gold recovered from a person who died in a road accident to the authorities of the emergency ward of Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur. This was stated by Divisional Emergency Officer rescue 1122, Dr. Asif Rahim Channar, in a press statement.

                BAHAWALPUR(PR) The 3 days painting exhibition of artist Khalid Saeed get kicked off at central library Bahawalpur. Principal College of Art and Design Islamia University Bahawalpur Dr. Nasrullah Khan Nasir inaugurated the art exhibition. While speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Dr. Nasrullah Khan Nasir paid rich tribute to the creative artistic faculties of artist Khalid Saeed whose work depicts the contemporary social realities and the prevailing socio cultural landscape of the motherland.
