BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad
Iqbal Channar has said that lack of proper socialization and none observing the
holy teachings of Islam leads to social disorder and torture upon women is
worst kind of social disorder which must immediately be stopped to establish a
balanced, vibrant and humane social policy. He made these remarks while
speaking as a chief guest at a ceremony held in connection with raising public
awareness regarding torture upon women at Dar-ul-Aman Bahawalpur.
The ceremony was attended by EDO community
development Aftab Peerzada, Superintendent Dar-ul-Aman Sehar Siddiqa, Mrs.
Sadia Nauman Haqqi, Professor Dr. Munir Azhar, Senior social welfare Officer
Yaseen baloch, Muhammad Uzair, Social welfare officers, representatives of
social organizations and a large number of resident women of Dar-ul-Aman.
"Mutual respect between male and female is vital
to create gender parity which is imperative to establish a constructive and
peaceful social order", Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar
noted.
He emphasized the need to revitalize our centuries
old normative social order which extend respect to the women as mother, sister,
daughter and wife separately which was the corner stone of our peaceful
societal order. He urged upon all stake holders and opinion leaders to play
their role constructively to raise public awareness to end violence against
women.
Prominent intellectual Professor Dr. Munir Azhar,
Professor Naureen Anjum, Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Dr. Muhammad
Aziz, social welfare Officer Yaseen Baloch also addressed the ceremony.
Later, Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal
Channar distributed gifts among inmate children and women of Dar-ul-Aman.
District administration is planning to establish animal rights group to protect the rights of animals: DCO
BAHAWALPUR(PR) District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtasham
Anwar Mahar has said that District administration is planning to establish
animal rights group to protect the rights of animals in District Bahawalpur.
This group would have representation from representatives of live stock, Police
and students and teachers of the College of veterinary and animal sciences and
law. He made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest at a seminar held in
connection with "World Animal Rights Day" at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi
Hall Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
"Students of the Universities throughout the
world constitute think tanks which formulate forward looking policies to
protect animals from torture and devise a vibrant and sustainable policy
framework to protect animals from torture", DCO noted.
He further said that District administration has
operationalized a help line 1718 to receive complaints regarding torture upon
animals and resultantly by initiating proper action to protect them from
torture.
District Police Officer Ashfaq Ahmad Khan while
speaking as guest of honour maintained that a policy framework should also be
devised to protect the rights of animals. He further said that police has been
directed to check the practice of loading animals into vehicles through
improper ways and stringent action has been initiated for violating the
relevant rules.
Professor of department of law Islamia University of
Bahawalpur Farah Tauqeer, Law student Ali Jan, Principal of veterinary and
animals sciences Dr. Zahid Kamran and Professor Sadaf Mehdi also addressed the
seminar.
The seminar was attended by Prominent intellectual
Habibullah Bhutta, students and teachers of law department of Islamia
University of Bahawalpur, Media and civil society representatives, Assistant
Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter, Assistant Commissioner Head
Quarter Muhammad Tayyab, EDO education Chaudhry Amjad Bashir and other officers
and officials of the concerned departments.
Annual meeting of the general council of Public Relations society of Pakistan
BAHAWALPUR(PR)The annual meeting of the general council of Public
Relations society of Pakistan (PRSP) was held at the Directorate of Public
Relations, Bahawalpur. The meeting was presided over by the
President of PRSP Dr. Muhammad Naseem Nadeem. The meeting was attended by
District Information Officer Nauman Masood Khan, Accounts Officer Advertisement
Jam Ghulam Asghar, Pictorial Publicity Officer Anees Ahmad Khan, Mr. A D Malik,
Riaz Hussain Bhutta, Majid Mirza, Nouman Ashraf Khan, Zain Mahmood, Muhammad Maaz,
Saleem Hussain, Irfan Ali, former officials and members of PRSP Muhammad Ashraf
Khan and Berkat Ali and a large number of PRSP members.
The meeting decided to hold next election for
electing the general body for next 2 years on 31st of December, 2016.

D Malik also addressed the meeting and discussed various issues and problems
faced by the employees.

Society of Pakistan Muhammad Naseem Nadeem.
