BAHAWALPUR (PR)Deputy
Commissioner Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal has fixed the new prices of
essential items in district Bahawalpur. He issued these directions while
presiding over a high level meeting of district price control committee held at
his committee room on Wednesday.
“The new prices
of essential items are aimed to protect the economic rights of the consumers
through the comprehensive and effective consultation of all stake holders which
include: - Representative of trade unions, consumers and government officials”,
Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal noted.
The new fixed
prices of essential items include: - Basmati Rice Kernal Rs. 98/Kg; Rice Irri Rs.
41/Kg, pulse gram Rs. 105/Kg, Pulse Masoor Rs. 105/Kg, Pulse Moong Rs. 95/kg,
White gram thin quality Rs. 135/Kg, Gram flour Rs. 110/Kg, Sugar Rs. 58/Kg, Red
Chili Powder Rs. 190/Kg, Meda and Suji Rs. 44/Kg, Mutton Rs. 580/Kg, Beef Rs.
280/Kg, Milk Rs. 55/Liter, Curd Rs. 70/Kg, Tanduri Bread of 100 grams Rs.
5/each, Naan of 100 grams Rs. 6/each, Bread of 700 grams Rs. 50/each, Bread of
400 grams Rs. 40/each and regular soft drinks Pepsi, Coca Cola, Sprite and
others Rs. 20/each.
The meeting was
attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner revenue Nausheen Malik, Additional
Deputy Commissioner general Aftab Peerzada, all the Assistant Commissioners of
the district, District Officer enterprises Pervaiz Faheem Bukhari, President of
trade union Israr Shah, Khurshid Nazir, Muhammad Bilal, representatives of
trade unions and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
Deputy
Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal has directed all price control magistrates
to sharpen their vigil to fully implement the newly approved price list throughout
the district to ensure the protection of economic rights of the consumers by
evolving an effective and comprehensive implementation mechanism. He further
directed the price control magistrates to ensure the demand and supply
mechanism of basic essential items along with display of price control lists at
all food supply outlets at the prominent places.
Earlier, the
meeting held a comprehensive review of the previous price lists and through a
consultative process with all the stake holders decided to approve the new
price list.
