BAHAWALPUR/AHMEDPUR EASTA(By Our Staff Reporter) local journalist Jamshed Mughal, was among the victims who burnt alive in the oil-tanker incident while Rana Kashif, cameraman of a private TV channel sustained injuries.However, their car was burnt in the tragedy. Local journalist Jamshed Mughal was missing in this incident but Yesterday his elder brother poet and journalist Javed Mughal announced his death.Earlier he was not found among all injured persons admitted in different hospitals of the country.
Javed Mughal told  Media that his younger brother Jamshed Mughal dead body had been buried in mass graves in Basti Nazirabad graveyard.



Oil Tanker Blaze Incident Deaths  rises to 200


BAHAWALPUR(By Sumaira Danish)The death toll from oil-tanker Blaze Incident  rises  to 200 on Sunday as six more injured succumbed to their burns in Multan and Lahore hospitals.
According to hospitals sources, two patients, identified as 40-year-old Saeed and 35-year-old Hameeda lost the battle for life in Lahore’s Jinnah hospital. Meanwhile, four others died in the burn unit of Multan’s Nishtar hospital taking the toll to 200.On the other hand, Motorway police spokesman Imran Shah said that a government inquiry into the incident had found at least five police officials guilty of hiding information.
District Police have tightened the noose around criminals:DPO Lodhran
LODHRAN(By Our Correspondent)The district police have tightened the noose around criminals and making all-out efforts to protect the lives and belongings of the common man, DPO Asad Sarfraz Khan said.
Talking to media here, he claimed that the police are utilizing all available resources for elimination of crime and operations are being conducted against wanted drug-peddlers and proclaimed offenders to control crime rate in the district. He said that steps are being taken to improve the police performance and records at police stations are also being computerized.
The DPO claimed that the police arrested hundreds of outlaws of different categories in operations conducted during first six months of the ongoing year. He said that at least 2,100 cases were registered against the outlaws out of which 1,658 were moved to court where from they were jailed. The DPO said that they were wanted in different cases of heinous crime including murder, robbery, abduction, trespass, bike lifting and rustling. The police also recovered Rs18 million worth valuables including motorcycles, cattle and household goods from their possession and handed over to the owners, the DPO claimed. Besides, police also arrested 1,252 wanted criminals including 142 of Category A and 1,110 of Category B, he added.
Mr Sarfaraz said that the police busted 93 members of 30 different gangs and recovered stolen items worth Rs4.8 million from them. The police also launched a crackdown on gambling dens and arrested 315 gamblers with playing cards, ludo and the betting money, he added.
The police also launched a crackdown on violators of National Action Plan (NAP) and arrested 48 violators of Amplifier Act and 15 others were booked for not ensuring foolproof security on the premises of banks and other government and private buildings. Police also arrested 139 facilitators of criminals and besides, kite-flyers and wheelie doers were also dealt with sternly.

Zewar-e Taleem cards issued to 9010 eligible Students in Lodhran



LODHRAN(PR)At least 9,010 eligible students out of 12,418 have been issued Zewar-e-Taleem cards under Punjab Chief Minister’s Zewar-e-Taleem Programme.
District Education Authority CEO Mian Ismail stated during a meeting here. The meeting was chaired by ADC (general) Jaam Baqa Muhammad. DMO Mukhtar Ahmed, Auditor Noor Masood and other officials attended the meeting. The CEO informed the participants that Rs9.5 million has been distributed to more than 11,500 students under fourth phase of Zewar-e-Taleem Programme.

Citizens  call on 15 if traffic police officials demand money from them for submission of challan:DPO Lodhran


LODHRAN(PR)DPO Asad Sarfraz Khan urged citizens to call on 15 if traffic police officials demand money from them for submission of challan.
According to a press release issued from the DPO office here, the DPO said that challans on violation of traffic laws should be deposited directly to the bank. He urged citizens not to sit idle and raise voice if they are forced to bribe the officials.
He also advised the traffic police personnel to be honest and perform duty with dedication, warning that negligent cops will be dealt with sternly otherwise. “To overcome corrupt practices in police department, a mobile app will be introduced soon through which citizens would be able to complain through cellphone and get feedback of their complaints through text messages,” the DPO informed.
The DPO also suspended a traffic police sub-inspector Sher Muhammad on the complaint of a citizen and ordered inquiry against him.

Women Killed by Brothers for illicit relations

KHANEWAL(Web Desk)A woman was shot dead in Mohallah Usmanabad here while another woman and her brother-in-law were murdered by the women’s brothers in village Ali Sherwahan, Khanewal over domestic disputes.
The family of Nasira Bibi, 40, had suspected that she had illicit relations with some one in the locality on which they often forbade her to make such relations. Last night, her brother Faisal Shah along with his cousin Safdar Shah and father Murtaza Shah shot her dead while she was asleep.
City police reached the spot, arrested the three accused, registered an FIR and sent the corpse for postmortem. SHO Ghulam Shabbir said that the accused have confessed to their crime.
Meanwhile, seven years old Bashura of Channi Qureshian, Chenab Nigar town was playing in the house when she touched the electric cooler and was electrocuted on the spot.
Likewise, another girl and his brother-in-law were killed by a young man in village Ali Sherwahan tehsil Jahanian district Khanewal over domestic dispute.
Noreen Bibi had contracted love marriage with Rana Ajmal of Multan, and was residing with her in-laws, and two daughters aged one year and 5 months respectively were born.
But after the dispute with her in-laws and husband, she was living with her parents. Meanwhile, her husband came to settle the issue. However, her brother Amjad opened fire on Noreen and her husband late Saturday night in Thatta Sadiqabad police station’s limits.
The victims died on the spot while the suspect managed to escape. Police said that the incident seems to have stemmed from a domestic clash. Police registered the FIR of the murder and started investigation. The police managed autopsy of the body in THQ Hospital Jahanian. It handed over both the bodies to the families for burial.
