Magnificent event was arranged in Bahawalpur Garrison in context of Martyrs Day

BAHAWALPUR (By ISPR)A magnificent event was arranged in Bahawalpur Garrison in context of Martyrs Day, which was attended by retired and serving Military Officers, Civil administration, politicians, Families of Martyrs and notables from all segments of society.  Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lieutenant General Sher Afgun laid flowers on Yadgar-e Shuhada and offered prayers. At this occasion, Corps Commander Bahawalpur while addressing the audience said that today is an important day for the whole nation in general and for the armed forces of Pakistan in particular. Today we have gathered here to pay commemoration to those martyrs and selfless defenders of the motherland who have written a golden chapter in the history of our nation with their blood. We assure the families of martyrs that at every step of their life and at every moment of difficulty, whole nation stands with them.

            Corps Commander Bahawalpur said that lives and deeds of our heroes are our greatest asset. We take pride in the legacy which is being colored with eternal sacrifices of martyrs. It is indeed an honor for us to have few families out of unlimited martyrs amongst us. I salute them and assure them that we will leave no stone unturned to make certain their welfare and well being. At the end, Families of the martyrs and School children laid flowers on Yadgar-e Shuhada.
