Anti-Corruption Establishment has made
the recoveries of Rs2.46 billion from the corrupt persons during the
period of one year in Punjab province

(By Our Staff Reporter)The Anti-Corruption Establishment has made the
recoveries of Rs2.46 billion from the corrupt persons during the period
of one year in Punjab province, an officer said.
During July 2016 to July 2017, as many as 30,438 complaints were received, 15,048 inquiries were held made and 3,176 cases were registered out of which 1,695 cases were challaned to court. Seventy criminals were sentenced by anti-corruption courts, said Director Anti-Corruption Bahawalpur Region Imran Raza. Apart from this, 433 raids were conducted, 2,474 suspects including 215 wanted criminals were arrested, he said. Raza read Punjab CM’s message to the attendees of the special ceremony held in Circuit House Bahawalpur. It was said in the CM Punjab’s message that in the past one year Anti-Corruption Department has been able to achieve significant success. The Anti Corruption Establishment’s performance is the best, through which process of social and economic development in the province is in progress with transparency, it said.
DPO Bahawalpur Mustansar Feroz, Superintendent JJail Shahram Touqeer Khan and famous analyst Malik Habibullah Bhutta also addressed the ceremony. In the ceremony, speakers emphasised on the elimination of corruption, development and achieving good governance.
