Bahawalpur (PR):International Women’s Day seminar was held at the
Islamia University of Bahawalpur on direction of Prof. Dr. Qaiser
Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. The participants were briefed about this
year’s theme of United Nations “Time is Now: Rural and Urban activities
Transforming Women’s Lives”. A Speaker highlighted legislation by the
government for protection of working women at workplace.
Pakistani women is playing active role in every walk of life and
government, civil society and media also contributing for welfare and
development of women folk which is being praised across the world. Our
women are exemplary in their bravery, courage and patience and playing
their part in progress and prosperity of the country. On this occasion,
participants also lauded efforts of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice
Chancellor for establishing day care center, female study park, first of
its kind in Pakistani universities providing outdoor study facilities
including proper sitting places under shades with Wi-Fi connectivity.A
tennis and basketball courts as well as a squash complex has been
constructed in the university campus. Prof. Dr. Razia Musarrat, Prof.
Dr. Shazia Anjum, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dr. Robina Rafiq and Farha
Amir spoke on this occasion.
