Pakistan Mathematical Society organized 44th National Seminar in five universities simultaneously through video streaming

Bahawalpur ( PR): Pakistan Mathematical Society organized 44th National
Seminar in five universities simultaneously through video streaming. On this
occasion, internationally renowned researcher and analyst Dr. Ijaz Shafi
Gillani delivered an extensive lecturer on topic of “Influence of Science in
Society”. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of
Bahawalpur, President and Founder Pakistan Mathematical Society also attended
the seminar. Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gillani got his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of
Technology in Political Science in 1977 and served at Quaid e Azam University
Islamabad as Chairman Department of International Relations. Currently, Dr.
Gilani heads Gallup Pakistan which specializes in opinion and marketing
research. He served as adviser to the Prime Minister and was Chairman of the
Prime Minister’s Committee for Research and Analysis. Currently, Dr. Gilani is
an honorary Senior Fellow at the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics
Islamabad. He is former Dean of International Islamic University Islamabad and
served as member of the Board of Governors of Bahria University. It is
important to mention that Pakistan Mathematical Society is dedicated to
supporting and encouraging those involved in research, teaching and learning of
mathematics at all levels. PakMS organizes and supports seminars, workshops,
lectures and conferences aimed at promoting mathematics in Pakistan. The Pak
Council of Science & Technology has merited PakMS as one of the top ten
NGOs of Science and Technology in Pakistan.
