SPRING FESTIVAL 2018 HELD AT GSCWU

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Spring festival was organized by the Directorate of Student affairs at GSCWU Bahawalpur. Different events were planned for the day. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. TalatAfza was the Chief Guest while sheMrs. NajmaJafriDirector Alpina, Mrs. SadiaMajeed Director APTECH, Mrs. HabibullahBhuttawere the guest of honour. On this occasion all the retired faculty members of the GSCWU were also invited. On this event the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. TalatAfzaVice Chancellor GSCWU inauguratedthe plant fair organized by the Botanical Society at the Botanical Garden. Students of the Botany Department GSCWU presented beautiful fresh, dry, Floralarrangements models and Rangoliesin very impressive way. The guest appreciated their efforts. After that the guest was led to the Main Campus ground for the inauguration of the spring festival by the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. TalatAfza. Different departments of the Women University organized stalls of different items i.e. eatables, mehndi, and flowersdedication. On this event department of Home Economics arranged an interdepartmental competition of fresh and dry flower arrangements for students and faculty members. Mrs. FarhanaYasmeen won first and Mrs. Sabahat Anwargot 2^nd prize in fresh flower arrangements. While Mrs. Sabahat Anwar won 1^st prize Mrs. GhazalaYasmeen got 2^ndprize in dry flower arrangement. Winner students of different departments were also awarded prizes for their respective positions. Students of department of Fine Arts exhibited beautiful decoration article/items made by them. Chief Guest visited all the stalls of the festival along with guest of honour. They all appreciated the efforts put in by the students and the faculty members in the organization of these stalls.On this occasion few recreational games were arranged by the sports society of GSCWU. Tug of War between faculty members of Intermediate and Graduate programs was held which was won by the intermediate faculty members. Musical Chair was also held for faculty members. In this game Mrs. Zobia Butt won the 1^st and Ms. Sana Batoolgot the 2^nd prize. Tug of war between intermediate and university students was also held and won by the intermediate students.Spoon and Lemon race was also held between the students of university. At the end of the event Chief Guest distributed prizes to the winners of all above said events. Prof. Dr. TalatAfzaWorthy Vice Chancellor of GSCWU congratulated the students and the faculty members for the conduction of the wonderful spring festival. She emphasizedthat such co-curricular events must be planned occasionallyto provide a platform for the students to show their potential for different activities besides studies.
