Lahore(by Our Correspondent) Director General Wildlife Khalid
Ayaz has cancelled leaves of all field officers and officials deployed at
wildlife parks, breeding centers and zoos during Moharam holidays from October
23 to 25 throughout the province.
He said this while presiding over a departmental meeting, here today. All
concerned officers were present on the occasion. He said that due to hunting
season, the hunters can take benefit of Moharam holidays for illegal hunting
and netting of quails and falcons. Therefore, all field officers and officials
should remain present at their respective duty place and keep a vigilant eye on
illegal hunting.
Khalid Ayaz said that most of the people visit wildlife parks and zoos during
Moharam holidays, therefore, presence of all concerned officers and officials
is essential so that they could take timely action in case of any untoward
situation. He said that raiding teams have been constituted for checking
presence of officers and officials during Moharam holidays, which will pay
surprise visits to wildlife parks, breeding centers and zoos throughout the
province. He warned that in case of absence of any officer or official, strict
indiscriminate action would be taken.
