The role of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan Politics

Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was born on 25 December 1949 at Lahore. He is currently the Prime Minster of Pakistan, and also the leader of Pakistan’s second largest Political party Muslim league “N”. He has become three times Prime minister of Pakistan. He is the son of late Mohammad Sharif, he was the owner of Itefaq group of industries. He got his primary education form saint Anthony High School. After graduation He got LLB degree form Punjab University of Law. Nawaz Sharif got political education form General Zia Ul Haq. While Zia ul Haq was in power he had been in Punjab government for long time. He had been the member of Punjab provincial council for some time. In 1989 he joined the provincial cabinet as finance Minister. According to onlineindus.com He got succeed in rural development program up 70%. As well as he was also the Minster of sports, and he got started new activates. In 1986 elections under dictatorship he got succeed with the majority of Provincial and National seats. April 1985 he took oath as a prime minster of Punjab. May 1988 General Zia fired the Jonejo’s government but he was still the in the Punjab government as a caretaker of Punjab province. In 1988 elections for defeating PPP General Jelani used hidden funds; Nawaz Sharif also took lot of benefits from these funds. 6th November 1990 his Party again won the election and he took the oath as a prime Minster. However his party could not complete five years, and was dismissed by president of Pakistan. But the Supreme Court of Pakistan recovered his position again, but 1993 he had to resign again form his post with the president. 1999 Nawaz Sharif tried to dismissed General Parvez Musharraf because He wanted to bring new army officer. Due to this act Pervez Musharaf dissolved his government. After dissolving his government he has been filed many cases. But he did the hidden agreement with the army and went to out of country. In 2006 signed COD with Benazir Bhutto. August 2007 Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected government’s objections and his family was allowed to return Pakistan. Musharaf had been pressurized by Saudi government and He returned at Lahore with his family on 25 November 2007.

In 2008’s elections he could not get succeed and PPP made the collation government.

In 2013’s elections Muslim League got succeed with majority and Nawaz Sharif became 3rd time the prime Minster of Pakistan. Now will he become prime Minster 4th time or not it will be decided by people of Pakistan in upcoming elections.
