Few graduates could not
receive their medals during convocation ceremony due to non availability
Bahawalpur
( PR ) The spokesmen of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that
a few graduates could not receive their medals during convocation ceremony held
on 15th February, 2016 due to non availability. The medals will be
provided to these graduates as soon as received to the university. The
spokesman added that university has scheduled convocation twice a year to
remove previous backlog. It is pertinent to mention here that the university
has organized total seven convocations during 39 years of history and now
within a span of one year, two convocations have been held on 10th
December 2015 and 15 February 2016 to award degrees and medals to graduates of
sessions 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Meanwhile, the weekly coordination meeting of program directors of the Punjab
Education Foundation was held on Wednesday at the head
office with Managing Director Tariq Mahmood in the chair. The meeting reviewed
in detail the expansion goals and other initiatives for extending free
educational opportunities to the low income families who cannot afford
schooling of their children for want of resources.
MD PEF said
that expansions in different public private partnership based educational
programs were being achieved according to their targets. This has been helping
to further extend free educational facilities to the children in need. He
expressed the satisfaction that due to the educational initiatives, PEF has
been enabled to serve to the children of nomad families dwelling in the vast
Cholistan desert as well as encouraging the parents to send their girls to PEF
sponsored schools which are available in the close vicinity.
After
launching of digital monitoring of partner schools, district monitoring
mechanism has also been established to ensure smooth state of affairs. PEF is
the largest program of providing free education to the needy children which is
enabling them to change their lives through education, concluded the MD.
