Minister for Co-Operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal channar has said that Prime
Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's visionary and bold leadership made
Pakistan's defense invincible by detonating 6 nuclear devices which placed
Pakistan among the group of 7 Nuclear powers in the world. This prestigious
distinction also earned honour for the Motherland as the 1st nuclear power in
the Muslim world also. He made these remarks while addressing a special
ceremony to commemorate the 18th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer held at his
residence, here, today. This special meeting also prayed for the well being and
speedy recovery of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The meeting was
attended by prominent political notables and workers which include: - Malik
Muneer Channer; Malik Zaheer Channer; Malik Ejaz Channer and a large number of
Party workers.
Despite tremendous global diplomatic
pressure "Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif took an historic
initiative of detonating 6 nuclear devices in a matching response to 5 nuclear
explosions of neighbouren country which not only mitigated tactical imbalance
but established an everlasting strategic parity in our region", Mr. Iqbal
Channer claimed.
He paid rich tribute to the
courageous and forward looking vision of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif whose long term socio-economic egalitarian agenda would certainly usher
in a new era of peace and prosperity in Pakistan. Earlier the meeting prayed to
almighty Allah for the speedy recovery of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif.
39 deserving women were awarded cheques on account of Jahaiz Fund
BAHAWALPUR(PR)As
many as 39 deserving women were awarded cheques to the tune of Rs. 15 thousand
on account of Jahaiz Fund. The total amount of distributed cheques
stands that Rs. 5 lakh and 85 thousand.
Chairperson Zonal Jahaiz Committee
MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti gave away these cheques in a special ceremony
held at Zonal Auqaf Office. The ceremony was attended by MPAs:- Fouzia Ayub
Qureshi; Hasina Naz; Zonal Administrator Auqaf Ghulam Abbas; Committee
members:- Nasreen Ghauri; Razia Gul; Farzana Tariq; Kiran Ansari; Sharifan
Begum; Surrayya Perveen; Fouzia Gul and a large number of deserving women with
their parents.
While addressing the ceremony
Chairperson Zonal Jahaiz committee MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti maintained
that to extend financial assistance to the needy and deserving persons is the
top priority of the Government which practically gets manifested in the schemes
like Jahaiz fund. "All processes of starting from receiving of
applications and their scrutinization were conducted in transparent manner and
only the needy and deserving persons were selected purely on the basis of
merit.
5 million has been recovered on account of sales tax from different housing societies and restaurants in Bahawalpur division

total sum of Rs. 5 million has been recovered on account of sales tax from
different housing societies and restaurants in Bahawalpur division. This
operation of sales tax recovery was supervised by Additional Commissioner
income tax Mr. Zeeshan Nazir Khan.
Under the direction of Chairman
Punjab Revenue authority Rahil Ahmad Siddiqui a vigorous, vibrant and sustained
campaign to check the record of various restaurants and housing societies has
been launched in Bahawalpur Division. In this campaign the relevant documents
pertaining to sales and other taxes a thorough scrutiny of these business
enterprises was conducted. Those restaurants and housing societies whose tax
documents were scrutinized include: - Bahawalpur: - Diamond Heights hotel;
Mirch Masalah Restaurant; Taj Palace hotel; Paradise hotel; Golden Palace
motel; Aden hotel; New Pakistan hotel and Asia hotel; Ahmadpur Sharqia: - Food
Club Restaurant; Wasaib hotel and Khayaban Doud housing society; Rahim Yar
Khan: - Shalimar garden housing scheme and Iqbal garden land housing scheme;
Sadiqabad: - Cafe Sajawal; Midway hotel and Ghulam Nabi Restaurant.
All these enterprises were sealed
for violating the rules of Punjab Revenue authority in paying their taxes but
later on after clearing their outstanding these enterprises were de-sealed and
allowed to resume their business activities.
Additional Commissioner Zeeshan
Nazir Khan maintained that Punjab Revenue Authority was committed to promote
tax culture by mobilizing all available resources which would lead to stable
and solid tax base in Punjab.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Council of consumer protection is committed to protect the economic rights of the consumers by having a close watch regarding the quality of services rended to the consumers and provision of high quality products to them through a vibrant and effective monitoring mechanism in Bahawalpur district. This was stated by Assistant Director legal consumer protection council Ms. Zeenat Mazhar Hashmi while talking to consumers at his office today. She maintained that all applicants pertaining to violation of council's rules and regulations are promptly processed and forwarded to five Assistant Commissioners in Bahawalpur district for further legal necessary action for redressal of grievances of the complanets.

regarding hazards of sleeping while driving.
This campaign has been launched on
the directions of DIG Mirza Shakeel Baig beat No. 21 Ahmad Pur Sharqia. Beat
commander Shafiq Joiya delivered lectures to the drivers to necessary measures
regarding safe driving by minimizing their duration of driving on long routes.
He sensitized the drivers about the dangers of sleeping drive to long duration
of driving and advised them to reduce the duration of driving at night.

State Minister while speaking on the occasion said that Government is providing all possible facilities to the young and talented students to acquire modern skill through different state departments and organizations. He hoped that internees of SNGPL would avail of all opportunities of acquiring modern skill during their internship.
