BAHAWALPUR(PR)Minister of State for higher education and interior Engineer Baligh-ur-Rehman laid the foundation stone of Younus Shaheed T.B Dispensary which would be completed by spending 5.8 million rupees in the area of walled city in Bahawalpur. The ceremony was attended by EDO health Dr. Shahid Khaliq; Dr. Shahid Iqbal Baig; Mian Shahid Iqbal; Faheem Qureshi; Shahid Abdullah Chaudhry and a large number of citizens.
Minister of State Engineer Baligh-ur-Rehman while speaking on the occasion said that Government was fully committed both to expand and modernize medical infrastructure to extend state of the art health facilities to the citizens.
"Younus Shaheed T.B Dispensary medical project is the practical manifestation of Government of Punjab's vision to provide health facilities at the door steps of the citizens and this medical project in the walled city is a step forward to turn this dream of the Government into reality", the Minister of state maintained.
He directed to the health officials to mobilize all available resources to complete this project speedily to ensure better medical access to the residents of the area. The residents of living the vicinity of Police Station KOTWALI thanked the government for providing funds to launch this medical facility.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has said that as many as 12 Ramzan Bazars in 5 tehsils of district Bahawalpur have been successfully extending economic relief by providing quality food stuff at concessionary rates to the consumers in the holy month of Ramzan. He made these remarks while talking to the consumers during a surprise visit at Ramzan Bazar at Khanqah Sharif district Bahawalpur .
"Both electronic rate boards and electronic weight machines have been operationlized and their working is closely monitored by the specially deputed staff at Ramzan Bazars to protect the economic rights of the consumers", The DCO maintained. He went at different stalls of kitchen items; vegetables; fruits; soft drinks; meat; chicken; agriculture fair price shop; flour and sugar to check the supply chain of these products and their price regime. He especially weighted the flour and sugar bags to ensure the weight of these commodities and found their weights satisfactory. He also checked the level of moister of flour bags through moister measuring meter.
District Co-ordination Officer directed the in-charge of Ramzan Bazar to pay special attention to keep the Ramzan Bazar clean and tidy to ensure hygienic environment.
Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Sadar Husnain Khalid Sanpal briefed the visiting DCO regarding different measures undertaken to provide maximum facilities to the consumers at Ramzan Bazar.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Government of Punjab has earmarked sports development funds amounting to rupees 5 billion to launch as many as 175 development projects to further promote sports activities in the budget of fiscal 2016-17.
"Government of Punjab's rupees 5 billion allocation is aimed to expend sports infrastructure by constructing e-park libraries; prototype gymnasium and to construct new sports related facilities across the province", the budget document maintained.
The Punjab Government's budget 2016-17 has specifically earmarked a development fund amounting to Rs. 285 million for 4 sports development projects which include: - Rs. 140 million for construction of prototype sports gymnasium at tehsil Hasilpur, district Bahawalpur; Rs. 64 million for establishing e-park library at Bahawalpur; Rs. 49.5 million for providing missing facilities at gymnasium, Bahawalpur city and Rs. 23 million to augment gymnasium by providing missing facilities at tehsil Khairpur Tamewali, district Bahawalpur.
