called upon all concerned officials to fully mobilize all available resources
to ensure maximum economic relief to the consumers at Ramzan Bazars. He made
these remarks during a surprise visit at Ramzan Bazars established at Railway
Road Bahawalpur in Bahawalpur city; tehsil Khairpur Tamiwali and tehsil
Hasilpur. Secretary live-stock visited different stalls of kitchen items;
fruits and vegetables; meat; chicken and soft drinks. He checked in detailed
both the quality of food stuff and price lists to ensure economic cushion to
the consumers at Ramzan Bazars. He also checked the weighing machines to ensure
accurate measuring of sold products as well. He directed the incharge of Ramzan
Bazar to pay special attention to maintain the hygienic condition of perishable
items like: - meat; chicken; fruits and vegetables. During inspection,
Secretary live-stock was briefed by the concerned Assistant Commissioners about
different steps regarding security measures and to maintain cleanliness at the
Ramzan Bazars.

visit at government poltery farm and arid research institute Bahawalpur. During
his visit at these 2 institutions the concerned officials briefed him about
ongoing various research projects carried out at these 2 institutions. The
incharge of Shad Baad Cholistan Farm briefed the Secretary live-stock about a
project to preserve the herbs; plants and flowers through a framework of
systematic and sustainable cultivation of these herbs and plants which would
preserve the botanical heritage of Cholistan. He was further apprised of that
these herbs and plants play a vital role in the manufacturing of medicines
which would help advance research in medical sciences.

duties and misconduct with public.
The 2 suspended Police Officers are: - Hamid Shah and
Irshad Bukhari who hailed from Bahawalpur district.

UCH SHARIF(By Arshad Shad)Uch Sharif Police has registered a criminal case
against the husband and the step-mother of a victim of domestic violance
Shamshad Mai and the accused have also been arrested.
Uch Sharif police has initiated this prompt action, on
the directions of Regional Police Officer Dr. Ehsan Sadiq who has taken serious
notice regarding a news item aired in the electronic media about torture on the
victim.
Regional Police Officer had further directed to submit
an initial report to explain the facts regarding this issue. Consequently; Uch
Sharif Police has reported that Shamshad Mai was tortured by her husband Rajab
Ali; her step-mother Moqsooda Bibi and her brother in law due to some domestic
disputes in the four-walls of their home. The report further clarified that neither
a "Local Panchait" was held nor the victim's hair were cut and her
face blackened. The report has categorically contradicted the news item that
Shamshad Mai was roamed in the streets.
Regional Police Officer has directed Uch Sharif Police
to expedite the investigation process.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Police range Bahawalpur has uploaded relevant
particulars of 58 unidentified corpses at Punjab government's website
"MODRIP" which would enable the heirs to have a proper access of
relevant information to accelerate the process of identifying these
unidentified corpses. Besides, Police range Bahawalpur has also established a
special help line at the office of Regional Police Officer, Bahawalpur to
establish an online access to get the relevant information in this regard. The
helpline number is: - 062-9250371.
Under the direction of Regional Police Officer, Dr.
Ehsan Sadiq a comprehensive mechanism has been evolved to properly handle the
issue of 85 unidentified corpses which were taken into custody by the police
during the last 5 years. Out of these 85 unidentified corpses 61 were
identified as male; 22 women and 5 children. Police range Bahawalpur launched a
special drive to identify the particulars of these unidentified corpses and
after thorough investigation manage to identify the particulars of 24
unidentified corpses which were handed over to their heirs.
The Police investigation revealed that as many as 14
unidentified corpse's postmortem established the cause of death as un-natural.
Resultantly, police had got registered 14 criminal cases which are under
investigation.
Under Regional Police Officer's directions:- police
range Bahawalpur has intensified their drive to ensure proper access to the
relevant particulars to the heirs of these 58 unidentified corpses both by
uploading particulars at Punjab government's and Punjab Police's websites
alongwith installing a round the clock helpline at Regional Police Officer's
office, Bahawalpur.
Health officials should launch a stringent campaign of blood testing of all the butchers and their staff by fully operationalizing the services of mobile health unit:Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar

Mahaar has made mandatory the blood screening tests of all the butchers and
their associated to ensure the supply of high quality and hygienic meat to the
consumers at 12 Ramzan Bazars in district Bahawalpur. He issued these
directions during a surprise visit of different Ramzan Bazars in district
Bahawalpur.
"Health officials should launch a stringent
campaign of blood testing of all the butchers and their staff by fully
operationalizing the services of mobile health unit to conduct the blood
screening tests at all the Ramzan Bazars in district Bahawalpur", DCO
underlined.
DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar prohibited all butchers
and their staff to carry on their meat selling business without passing through
the blood screening tests to protect the economic rights of the consumers.
Resultantly, EDO health Dr. Shahid Khaliq has immediately launched the blood
screening drive by conducting blood screening tests at Ramzan Bazars:- Meley
wali Gali and Railway road in Bahawalpur city. While giving briefing regarding
ongoing drive of blood screening tests of the butchers, EDO health Dr. Shahid
Khaliq maintained that the blood screening process gets completed in a day and
in this regard daily performance report is submitted to the office of DCO
Bahawalpur.
DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has maintained that the
blood screening tests of the butchers is a major initiative to protect the
consumers from contaminated diseases. He has directed EDO health to personally
supervise this ongoing drive to achieve the desired targets.

Iqbal Channer maintained that a comprehensive network of as many as 318 Ramzan
Bazars with an allocation of Rs. 5 billion under Chief Minister Punjab's Ramzan
Package has ensured to extend economic relief to the millions of consumers at
the grass root level throughout 36 districts of Punjab in the holy month of
Ramzan. He made these remarks while talking to consumers during a surprise
visit of Ramzan Bazar at Hasilpur and Khairpur Tamewali.
"The effective and sustainable mechanism of
extending economic cushion by channelizing a systematic chain of supplying high
quality food stuff at concessionary rates is a practical reflection of Chief
Minister Punjab's vision to extend economic relief to the consumers in the holy month of Ramzan", The
Minister noted.
During his visit Minister Iqbal Channer checked the
quality and the price lists of edibles; kitchen items; soft drinks; vegetables
and fruits by visiting different stalls established in Ramzan Bazar. The
Minister further said that Chief Minister Punjab has directed all DCO's and
DPOs and concerned staff to supervise the bidding process at all fruit and
vegetables markets to stabilize the price regime of fruits and vegetables in
the holy month of Ramzan.
During the visit the consumers present at Ramzan Bazar
thanked the Chief Minister Punjab for providing high quality edibles at
concessionary rates at Ramzan Bazars. He was accompanied by Chairman union
council Bilal Baluch and Assistant Commissioners of Khairpur Tamewali and
Hasilpur.
