Government is fully committed to mobilize all available resources to eradicate dengue Larva :Saqib Zafar
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has said
that Government is fully committed to mobilize all available resources by
operationalizing 1278 vector surveillance teams to eradicate dengue Larva in
Bahawalpur division. Besides, a wide ranging public awareness campaign has also
been launched by organizing walks, symposiums and seminars as well. He made
these remarks while leading an anti-dengue public awareness walk held at
Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, here at Bahawalpur.
The walk started at the main entrance gate of the
Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and covered a distance of 1.5 Kilometer. The walk was
attended by Director Security Colonel Hassan, Chinese Engineers, Deputy
Director Public Relations Nasir Hameed, and the employees of Quaid-e-Azam Solar
Park.
Later, Commissioner inspected various parts and the
admin block of the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park. He directed the concerned officials
to adopt adequate measures to eliminate the dengue causing Larva to create
dengue free environment.
Two days exhibition of local mangoes and dates

on July 25th at the venue of Qulzar Sadiq Bahawalpur. The joint
exhibition venture has the collaboration of the office of Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division, district government and Pak Army.
Anti-Dengue seminar
BAHAWALPUR(PR)A seminar was held at the Auditorium of Quaid-e-Azam
Medical College Bahawalpur in connection with anti-Dengue day yesterday.
Medical Superintendent Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr.
Shahid Faraz presided over the proceedings. Medical Superintendent while
addressing the Seminar said that a separate unit has been operationalized at
Bahawal Victoria Hospital which has been equipped with state of the art
pathological lab along-with adequate stock of medicines to treat the potential
patients. He further said that special care should be taken to remove the stagnated
water which might serve as the breeding spot for dengue causing Larva. District
health officer Dr. Saeed Asghar also spoke on the occasion and narrated
different precautionary measures.
Later, Syed Abdullah, Dr. Aftab Jameel and Dr. Qudsia
Anwer also spoke. They gave detailed briefings regarding various precautionary
measures to protect from various dengue causing factors. They further said that
special care should be taken to have neat and hygienic environment in this
regard.
The seminar was attended by Director Emergency BVH Dr.
Aamir Bukhari, Dr. Zeeshan Rauf, Waheed Murad Aadil, Syed Zeeshan Arif and
other officers and officials of the social welfare and relevant departments.

department Bahawalpur. The walk started from EDO health office and
ended at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur. Medical Superintendent

grounds and lawns was launched to have an hygienic environment on these two

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Under the directions of Regional Police Officer
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehsan Sadiq, Bahawalpur police has arrested as many as 8
thousand proclaim offenders and has registered 879 criminal cases for
possessing illegal arms and arrested 879 accused in this regard along-with
recovering 68 thousand and 204 liter alcohol, 366 grams of Marijuana and 9.705
Kilogram of opium from drug peddlers during the last 6 months in Bahawalpur
region. A spokesman of Bahawalpur police said that Bahawalpur region's police
in its ongoing crack-down against the anti-social elements has achieved these
targets. The spokesman further said that Bahawalnagar police has also recovered
4 years old kidnapped child Ali Haider and recovered a sum of Rs. 9 lakh from
the possession of kidnappers also.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Bahawalpur Waste Management Company established a
public awareness camp at Fawara Chowk Bahawalpur on the occasion of anti-dengue

Company visited the camp. Later, public awareness pamphlets were also
distributed among the people.
Parks and horticulture authority staged an anti-dengue walk
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Parks and horticulture authority staged an anti-dengue
walk which started from PHA's office at Model town 'A' and ended at Habib bank
chowk.
The participants carried play cards and banners of
public awareness messages to eradicate dengue. The walk was led by Director
Admin PHA Qazafi bin Shakoor. The walk was attended by Assistant Director
Marketing PHA Rao Jazib Saeed; Assistant Director PHA Rana Masroor Iqbal and a
large number of subordinate staff and members of civil society.
Director Admin PHA Qazafi bin Shakoor directed PHA
staff to take special care to remove unnecessary water from green belts, parks
and nurseries of the PHA.

to response to the calls of the citizens to eliminate larva site at any of the

BAHAWALPUR(PR)PMLN leader Dr. Ayesha Abdullah has said that 1278
vector surveillance team's effective operationalization in 348 union councils
of Bahawalpur division have constituted a comprehensive supervisory and
monitoring mechanism to decimate larva site which would help to establish a
dengue free environment. She made these remarks in a press statement.
"1027 indoor and 251 outdoor vector surveillance
teams have been equipped with necessary equipments along-with supervisory and
operational staff to have a strict vigil of potential dengue larva breeding
sites which would pave the way to eliminate the incidence of dengue in
Bahawalpur division", Dr. Ayesha maintained.
Dr. Ayesha said that the regular feature of observing
anti-dengue days is aimed to have holistic dengue decimating response mechanism
by pooling both human and material capital to wipe out dengue to create dengue
free environment.
"Millions of citizens have turned up at
public rallies, seminars and symposiums in 36 districts of the Punjab on the
call of Chief Minister Punjab which is a practical manifestation of citizenries
sensitivity to practically play their role to turn Chief Minister Punjab's
anti-dengue vision into practical reality", Dr. Ayesha Abdullah said.--
