Syndicate of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved appointments on important administrative posts vacant since last many years

Bahawalpur (PR)The Syndicate of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved appointments on important administrative posts vacant since last many years. These posts include director planning and development, chief security officer, principal transport officer, director information technology and system analysts. The 63rd syndicate meeting was held at Abbasia Campus under the Chair of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. The meeting also approved university budget of Rs. 3194.307 million for the fiscal year 2016-17. Total income has been estimated Rs. 2977.205 million while Rs. 960.901 million have been allocated for development budget. The significant decrease in financial deficit was also applauded in the meeting. The members also approved to adopt revision of basic pay scales and increase in allowances and pension as announced by the Punjab Government. Similarly, special conveyance allowance of rupees one thousand per month for disabled employees was also approved.


Seminar was held to observe anti dengue day at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur (PR) A seminar was held to observe anti dengue day at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The participants were apprised about symptoms of dengue fever and safety measures. It was briefed that dengue is an infectious disease caused by dengue virus. Dengue is transmitted to people by the bite of a female Aedes Mosquito that is infected with dengue virus. The symptoms of dengue fever include high grade fever, severe headache, severe pain behind eyes, joint pain, muscle and bone pain, rash and mild bleeding from nose or gums etc. The best way to save ourselves and our loved ones from dengue is to prevent it from spreading. The safety measures include wearing light colored cloths that cover maximum body, use of mosquito repellant lotions, coils and mosquito nets at homes. Use of wire mesh, spray of insecticides, proper disposal of garbage, covering water utensils and keeping drain holes and gutters properly covered can be helpful to prevent from dengue fever. On this occasion informative literature was also distributed among participants.



Zulifqar Ali Ph.D scholar in the Department of Education is going to defend his Ph.D thesis on Monday 25th July 2016

Zulifqar Ali, an HEC Ph.D scholar in the Department of Education, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is going to defend his Ph.D thesis on Monday, 25th July 2016 at 10:00 am in the seminar room of the Department of Education. Zulifqar Ali completed his research project under the supervision of Dr. Manzoor Arif, Department of Education. The topic of the thesis is "“Developing a Model for Supervision at Elementary Level in Punjab”. Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, Director Academics University of Sargodha and Dr. M Imran Yousaf Chairman, Department of Education, Pir Mehr Ali Shah University Rawalpindi will act as external examiners. Teachers, M.Phil, Ph.D. scholars and students are invited to attend the defense.
