Punjab Government has allocated 5 billion to expand and modernize sports
infrastructure:Iqbal Channer
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Punjab Government has allocated massive
funds to the tune of rupees 5 billion to expand and modernize sports
infrastructure which is aimed to establish new sports complexes at 9 divisional
head quarters along-with electronic sports libraries at various places in the
province. He made these remarks while giving away prizes at the concluding
ceremony of Rana Ahmad Mukhtar memorial cricket tournament held at Government
cant high school Bahawalpur.
"Modern sports infrastructure is
in-line with the Chief Minister Punjab's vision to synergize the sports
potential of our youth which would serve to have decent and balanced
socialization of our younger generation", Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal
Channer noted.
Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal
Channer said that Punjab Government has adequate allocated funds to accelerate
the pace of establishing modern sports infrastructure by constructing new
sports ground both in the urban and rural areas which would enable our youth to
get engaged in positive and constructive and healthy social activities.
Earlier, a final match was played between
Rajpoot eleven and Baao eleven which was won by Rajpoot eleven. Provincial
Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer gave away the winning
trophies to the captains of Rajpoot eleven and distributing prizes among the
participating cricketers.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar has
called upon the concerned officials to mobilize all available resources to
attain the target of planting as many as one million saplings and plants during
moon soon tree plantation drive in Bahawalpur division. He made these remarks
while inaugurating moon soon tree plantation campaign in Bahawalpur division by
planting a plant at the lawn of Commissioner office . The ceremony
was attended by Additional Commissioner coordination Saqib Ali Ateel, MD
Cholistan Development authority Naeem Iqbal Bukhari, Conservator forest Faisal
Haroon, DOC Chaudhry Amjad Bashir, Director Colleges Dr. Mehmood-ul-Hassan,
Assistant Commissioner general Syed Waseem Hassan and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
"To meet the challenges of climate
change, sustainable, effective and planned tree plantation is a strategic
requirement. Therefore, the forest officials should sharpen their vigil to
extend coordinated and effective monitoring of planted saplings and plants in
this campaign", Commissioner Bahawalpur urged.
Conservator forest while giving a
detailed briefing of tree plantation campaign maintained that one million
target of tree plantation in 3 districts of Bahawalpur division include:- 4
lakh and 28 thousand plants at district Bahawalpur, 2 lakh and 86 thousand
plants at district Bahawalnagar and 3 lakh and 36 thousand plants at district
Rahim Yar Khan. He further said that 24 sale points has also been established
where plants and saplings at the price of Rs. 3 and 1 respectively are
available to the customers.
Immediate
measures should be under-taken to ban all illegal cattle markets and sale
points to protect the economic rights of the consumers:Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar
BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur
Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has directed the concerned officials that immediate
measures should be under-taken to ban all illegal cattle markets and sale
points to protect the economic rights of the consumers. Besides, effective
precautionary measures should also be under-taken by ensuring anti-viral spray
at Government approved cattle markets and sale points in district Bahawalpur.
He made these remarks while presiding over a high level meeting to review the
arrangements of the cattle markets in district Bahawalpur. The meeting was
attended by Additional district collector Mrs. Imrana Ajmal, DOC Chaudhry Amjad
Bashir, EDO agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner
Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rauf and other
officers and officials of the concerned departments.
"All available resources should be
mobilized to establish dip points which should have adequate equipments and
anti-viral spray to decimate the incidence of CONGO VIRUS and other
diseases", DCO directed.
DCO urged upon live stock officials and
Assistant Commissioners to sharpen their vigil to wipe out the prevalence of
CONGO VIRUS to ensure disease free, congenial and healthy environment at all
the cattle markets and sale points in district Bahawalpur.
DCO further directed live stock officials
that they should also ensure the marking of all the animals which has been
administered anti-viral vaccine. DCO further directed that the joint teams of
live stock, police and representatives of local administration should
effectively operationalize the 6 pickets at the entry points to administer
vaccination to the animals which would be brought into the jurisdiction of
Bahawalpur City.
The live stock officials briefed the
meeting that 150 mobile teams of live stock has sprayed anti-viral vaccine at
as many as 3 lakh and 39 thousand and 780 animals in district Bahawalpur.
