Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Punjab Najam Ahmad Shah has said
that plan for revamping of tertiary care hospitals of Punjab has been finalized
which would be implemented in the next fiscal year. In first phase, at least
six teaching hospitals would be selected for revamping which would cost
billions of rupees. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has
already given approval for the project.
He
stated this while presiding over a meeting to review the developmental schemes of
Health Department for next fiscal year. Additional Secretary Health
(Development) Zaheer Abbas Malik, Member Health Planning & Development
Department Dr. Shabana Haider, Health Specialist Saleem Masih, Chief Planning
Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, different matters regarding strategy for revamping of
tertiary care hospitals, funding and preparation of PC-I of the development
projects discussed in detail. Najam Ahmad Shah said that teaching hospitals
from different districts would be selected for revamping. Moreover, setting up
of medical supply depot in Rahim Yar Khan and construction of nursing hostel in
Bahawalpur is also included in the plan.
