Bahawalpur (PR) Punjab Seed Council has approved cotton verities
IUB-13 and MM-58 introduced by College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences,
the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for
general cultivation. A meeting of the Punjab Seed Council was held under the
chair of Dr. Farukh Javed, Provincial Agriculture Minister to review progress of
various cotton verities presented by difference institutions. These verities
were approved for showing better productivity and performance under conditions
of drought and water scarcity. It is pertinent to mentioned here that Prof. Dr.
Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor has highly encouraged the agriculture scientists
at university to grow such cotton verities which are compatible with geographic
and climatic condition of Southern Punjab. A cotton verity IUB-222 is already
approved by the Punjab Government for marketing.
Dr. Zuber Shafiq has won Higher Education
Commission grant
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Dr. Zuber Shafiq, lecturer, department
of Media Studies, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has won Higher Education
Commission grant for a project to study and analysis of stereotypical images of Pakistani women in television dramas.
