BAHAWALPUR(PR)Minister of State for Higher
Education and Interior, Engineer Baleegh-ur-Rehman has said that Rubber Dam and
a Lack on a total Area over 1187 Acre of Land Adjacent to the Bank of River
Sutlej would be Completed by Spending one Billion and Six Hundred Million
Rupees to meet the Future Requirement of Supplying Water in the water deficit
Area for the Residents of two Districts Bahawalpur and Lodhran.
This
Project in Envisaged to Evolve an Scientific Aqua Mechanism, Which would not
only Raise the level of Portable Water but would also Purify it to Ensure
Delivery of Safe Drinking Water to Millions of People. He made these Remarks
while Chairing a High-Level Meeting regarding the Arrangements for launching
this Rubber Dam Project which was held at the Conference Room of Commissioner
Bahawalpur here on Saturday.
The
Meeting was attended by the Provincial Minister Cooperative Malik Muhammad
Iqbal channer, MNAs and MPAs of Bahawalpur Division, they includes:- MNA
Perveen Masood Bhatti; MNA Sabeeha Nazir; MPA Hasina Naaz; MPA Fouzia Ayub
Qureshi; MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja; MPA Khalid Mahmood Waran; MPA Afzal Gill;
MPA Ehsan ul Haq Bajwa; MPA Shukat Lalika; MPA Muhammad Nawaz Rind; MPA Kazim
Peerzada; MPA Islam Aslam; MPA Qazi Adnan Farid; MPA Syed Masood Aalam; MPA Ghulam
Murtaza. Beside, the Meeting was also Attended by Mr. Samiullah Chaudhry and
Chaudhry Saad Masood.
The
Concerned Officials brief the Meeting that 1187 Acre land for Rubber Dam and
Lack Project in the Area of Sutlej River is a Major Development Project to make
Futuristic Arrangements to meet the Requirements of safe drinking Water to the
Residents of the targeted Areas. Out of 1187 Acres of land:- 588 falls in
Bahawalpur District; 599 in Lodhran District while the 130 Acres of land is
Situated in different Government Revenue States.
Provincial
Minister of Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer directed the Concerned
Officials that Punjab Government is committed to ensure Compensation to the
Owners of land which would be required for launching this project. He further said that Comprehensive, Effective
and Fool-proof Arrangements would be made to ensure Prompt and just
Compensation to the Owners of lands which would be required.

Bahawalpur Mr. Khalid Arshad has Convicted an Accused, Abubakar alias Zarar by
awarding Punishment of 12 years and 5 months Imprisonment and Imposed Seven
Lakh and Fifty Thousand rupees fine here on Saturday.
According
to the Prosecution, Accused Abubakar was Apprehended by Police Station City,
Haroon Abad, District Bahawalnagar, under FIR No. 20/2015 - under Section
11-F(2), 11-F(6)/11-N/9/11-W, 11-EE (4) ATA, 1997 and Section 16 West Pakistan
Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960.
