Bahawalpur (PR)The Advanced Studies and Research
Board (ASRB), the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has approved steps to enhance
quality research paving way for a congenial environment for research activities
at the University. The 69th meeting of the ASRB was held under the chair
of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of
Bahawalpur. The board approved that PhD thesis will be evaluated in 90 days
while MPhil thesis in 30 days on prescribed performa. Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ahmad,
Director ASRB presented implementation report on decisions taken during the
last meeting.
Dr. Riaz Hussain attended annual meeting of federation of Asian Veterinary Association
Bahawalpur (PR)Dr. Riaz Hussain, Assistant
Professor, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the Islmia University of
Bahawalpur attended annual meeting of federation of Asian Veterinary
Association in Vietnam’s capital Ho Chi Min City. He also presented research
paper during the conference.
Munaza Fatima attended 8th International Summer School in Bielefeld University Germany.
Bahawalpur (PR) Munaza Fatima, Lecturer, Department of Geography, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur attended 8th International Summer School in Bielefeld University Germany. She attended special session on “Spatial Epidemiology Climate” and learned latest software and modules for climate research.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)A special ceremony was held at circuit house Bahawalpur on the eve of "World Food Day" . District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar was Chief Guest on this occasion. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director Food Chaudhry Muhammad Ajmal, District Food Controller Tanveer Nusrat Waraich, President of flour mills associations Chaudhry Abdul Jabbar, Rana Babar, Dr. Yaqoob, social workers, civil society representatives and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
While
addressing the ceremony DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar emphasized the significance
of pure, balanced and healthy food for establishing a vibrant, robust, and
highly energetic society.
"All
stake holders right from farmers, food manufacturers and distributors
collective endeavor is vital to establish a sustained food supply chains to
meet the food requirements of all segments of society", DCO Dr. Ehtisham
Anwer Mahar noted.
DCO
maintained that the time is right to adopt modern techniques in food
cultivating and utilizing scientific measures to produce healthy crops to meet
the food requirements of the growing populations. He urged upon all concerned
quarters to sharpen their vigil to effectively check the use of unhygienic and
polluted water for irrigating the crops and unnecessary use of pesticides which
was vital to raise crops which are free from diseases. He urged upon all the
stake holders engaged in food industry to strongly pledge to play their role
effectively to ensure high quality food to both our present and future
generations.

Food Controller Tanveer Nusrat Waraich, Deputy district officer agriculture
Jameel Ahmad Ghauri, District Officer livestock Dr. Rab Nawaz Kosar also
highlighted the significance of "World Food Day". Later, a walk was
also staged on the eve of "World Food Day" which was led by DCO
Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar. The walk started from circuit house and
ended at Fawara chowk. Government officials, representatives of flour mills
association, civil society representatives, farmers and people belonging to
various walks of life participated in the walk. The participants carried play
cards about the significance of balance diet.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Black buck and Chankara Safari trophy hunting kicked off. The ceremony was held at Lal Suhanra, Cholistan district Bahawalpur. Director General wild life and parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan while addressing the inaugural ceremony maintained that holding of black buck and Chankara Safari trophy hunting was aimed to promote sports hunting culture in Punjab. The ceremony was attended by honorary Chief game warden Punjab Shahrukh Butt, Deputy Director Wild life Bahawalpur region Saleem Akhter Langaah, Chairman operational committee Abdul Shakoor Manj and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
Director
General wild life and parks Khalid Ayaz Khan assured the participants that
decent and comfortable facilities would be extended to the participants of this
wonderful event. He further said that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out
to utilize the income generated from this event to extend socio economic
facilities to the residents of the area. Later, the participants highly
appreciated the arrangements made by the department of wild life and parks
Punjab for the Safari trophy hunting at Lal Suhanra, district Bahawalpur.

The ceremony welcomed district and session judge Bahawalpur Rehan Bashir, newly appointed station commander Bahawalpur and president of cantonment board Brigadier Mansoor Janjua, Chief of Staff 31 core Brigadier Raza Eezad, Commander of 35 divisional artillery Brigadier Abid Hussain Shah, District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar, District Police Officer Bahawalpur Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Director Anti Corruption Bahawalpur Tariq Hussain Bukhari, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Amir Hussain and Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rauf Maher. Besides, the ceremony paid rich tribute to the outgoing Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Pur East Rana Amjad Ali and Assistant Commissioner Hasilpur Waseem Anwer Khan on the eve of their transfer. Khattak, District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar and
District Police Officer Bahawalpur Ashfaq Ahmad Khan. They paid rich tribute to
the splendid services rendered by the outgoing officers. They also welcomed the
newly posted officers at Bahawalpur.
Later,
Provincial Minister for cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar presented
commemorative shields to Assistant Muhammad Amin, Driver Hazoor Bukhsh, Naib
Qasid Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Altaf and Ghulam Farid on the eve of their
retirement.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Government and Health department jointly organized a one day health fair and free medical camp at Basic Health Unit Rasoolpur district Bahawalpur. MNA Syed Ali Hassan Gillani inaugurated the Health fair and free medical camp.
Around
40 doctors including EDO health Dr. Shahid Khalique participated at the health
fair. A team of medical specialists under the leadership of Professor Dr. Qazi
Masroor Ali examined 3670 patients and conducted as many as 2071 pathological
tests. At the free medical camp free medicines were also provided to the
patients.
