as a result of firing at an engagement ceremony at Khanpur, district Rahim Yar
Khan. Regional Police Officer sought a report from DSP Khanpur Jamshaid Ali
Shah in this regard.

Muhammad Idrees Ahmad has directed DPO Rahim Yar Khan, DPO Bahawalnagar and DPO
Bahawalpur to take effective and solid measures to prevent the prevalence of
illegal firing to protect the lives of the innocent citizens in Bahawalpur
region.
"All available resources should
be mobilized to evolve a tangible and effective preventive mechanism to protect
the lives and properties of the citizens in Bahawalpur Division", Regional
Police Officer Muhammad Idrees Ahmad directed.
He
highly appreciated the close vigil of police officials of Police Station Civil
lines, Police Station Kotwali and Police Station Zahir Peer to eradicate the
menace of narcotics in their respective jurisdiction.

Rao Tasleem Akhter conducted raids at illegal blood transfusion banks and
centers and sealed 3 illegal blood banks and arrested 4 accused for running
illegal blood banks at Bahawalpur City.
During the raids Assistant
Commissioner Rao Tasleem Akhter recovered fake stamps of Bahawal Victoria
Hospital, substandard branulas, kanulas and other equipments which were
allegedly utilized for blood transfusion. During the raids, Assistant
Commissioner Rao Tasleem Akhter also took 51 prints of blood into custody which
were found to be kept without properly maintaining temperature which is
mandatory to ensure the high quality of the blood. Besides, these blood prints
were carrying no expiry date and date of collecting the blood. The confiscated
blood bags have been sent to the laboratory for chemical examination.
The sealed blood banks have been
identified as Al-Minhaj Thalassemia center, Dua Thalassemia center and Al-
Rehmat blood bank.
Police
Station Kotwali has registered a criminal case against the owners of these
blood banks. The raids conducted team headed by Assistant Commissioner
Bahawalpur City Rao Tasleem Akhter was comprised of District Health Officer
head quarter Dr. Zeeshan Rauf, Drug controller Bahawalpur Abid Zain and
officers and officials of the Police department.
