Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has said that stringent crack down
should be
carried out against the nefarious practice of food adulteration which is
aimed
to ensure sustain supply of pure and high quality food product to the
consumers
in Bahawalpur Division. He issued these directions while presiding over a
meeting of divisional task force committee of Punjab food authority. The
meeting was attended by DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar,
Additional Commissioner Consolidation Saqib Ali Ateel, Additional
Commissioner
Coordination Syed Muhammad Waseem and through video link:- DCO

Azhar Hayyat, DCO Rahim Yar Khan Zafar Iqbal and other officers and
officials
of the concerned departments.
The
meeting was briefed that during the last two months as many as 4394 raids were
conducted upon various food producing factories, bakers, restaurants, hotels
and business centers. During these raids 1307 samples of food were collected,
176 eateries and business centers were sealed, 23 FIRs were lodged. The
officials further briefed that a fine to the tune of Rs. 3.8 million was also
imposed upon the violators of food and price control act.
The
meeting was further apprised of that during the ongoing crack down price
control magistrates inspected 21 four mills, 6 chips manufacturing factories, 24
Ice factories, 529 milk selling outlets and 336 hotels and thoroughly checked
the quality of the food available there. Resultantly, the price control magistrates
imposed a fine on these food producing and selling outlets which include:- fine
of Rs. 44 thousand upon flour mills, Rs. 38 thousand upon substandard chips
manufacturers, fine to the tune of Rs. 93 thousand upon unhygienic ice factories,
fine to the tune of Rs. 7 lac and 65 thousand upon unhygienic milk selling
outlets, fine of Rs. 6 lac and 86 thousand upon hotels involved in selling sub
standard food and a fine amounting to Rs. 9 lac and 93 thousand upon bakers
involved in selling low quality food stuff. The meeting was also briefed that a
fine to the tune of Rs. 2 lac and 50 thousand upon butchers for selling sub
standard meat and price control magistrates destroyed 1506 Kilogram unhygienic
meat.

Baleegh-ur-Rehman has said that Government is mobilizing all available
resources to modernize socio physical infra-structure to ensure decent civic
amenities to the people. He made these remarks while inaugurating an
electricity supply project completing with the development funds amounting to
Rs. 5 lac and 71 thousand, here at Khanuwali, District Bahawalpur, today. The
ceremony was attended by Mian Shahid Iqbal, Chairman Union Council Shahid
Iqbal, Malik Tahir, Malik Shahid, Faheem Qureshi, Rao Rizwan, Shahid Abdullah
Chaudhry and a large number of citizens.
"Various
electricity producing projects are at the final stage of their completion which
would meet the energy requirements in the country", Minister of State
Engineer Mian Muhammad Baleegh-ur-Rehman noted.
Minister
of State further said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif's vision of turning Pakistan into top economies of the world was rapidly
getting materialized in the shape of Pakistan China economic corridor which
would open new vista of un-precedential development and progress for the 200
million people of our motherland.

1122. The flag march was started from rescue central station and
while passing through DCO office, Farid gate, Railway Station, Baghdad Station,
ultimately terminated at its starting point central station of rescue 1122,
Bahawalpur. Divisional emergency officer rescue 1122, Dr. Asif Rahim Channar
led the flag march.
Condolence reference of Ghulam Serwar Malik

condolence reference was held to pay homage to the prominent educationist,
intellectual, poet and journalist late Ghulam Serwar Malik, here, at Misali
pre-cadet school on Sunday. The reference was organized by Al Sadiq Desert
Welfare Organization. The condolence reference was presided over by Regional
Director Information Rana Ajaz Mahmood while former Director Information Nazir
Khalid and Malik Aashiq were the Guest of honour. The condolence reference was
addressed by Jam Dost Muhammad, Maher Zahoor, President Al Sadiq Desert Welfare
Organization Riaz Ahmad Baloch, Vice Principal Farooq Ali, Mian Ismail Bhutta, Nasrullah
Khan Nasir and Retired Headmaster Nabi Bukhsh. The condolence reference was
also attended by brothers of late Ghulam Serwer: Abdul Waheed, Abdul Majeed,
Abdul Hameed and his sons: Jawad Serwer, Farhad Serwer, Sheraz Serwer and
Sarfraz Serwer. The speakers paid rich tribute to the glorious services of late
Ghulam Serwer in the field of education and literature. Later, participants
offered Fatiha for the soul of late Ghulam Serwer.
