"CONSEQUENCES OF OVER SPEEDING === OBVIOUSLY DEATH"

"Death is a cruel and heartless enemy,All of us have to deal with the death at sometime or another".

As we are well aware about this universal fact and almost daily we read SLOGANS on the back side of Buses, Wagons,  Trucks & Rikshaws that "OVER SPEEDING IS DEATH" but there is no heed by anyone over this  rampant  chronic issue and road accidents are frequent features of our newspapers.

It is significantly considered around the world that Pakistan is a developing country where most of the Departments  have worsened particularly in trafficking, citizens whether younger or older, poor or rich feels great insult to follow the rules and regulations of Traffic as everyone is like ABOVE THE LAW.  In mostly areas  of Bahawalpur city juveniles drive vehicles without fear of authorities.  Underage boys are driving vehicles like cars, motorbikes and Auto Rikshaws without proper training and driving licenses. Like all other  big cities/metropolitan s  of Pakistan  the people of Bahawalpur Division also took oath that they will not follow the rules of traffic.  

From the General Bus Stand of Bahawalpur city as well as different Bus Stands where  there is plenty of Buses and Wagons are being overloaded with passengers and goods for the departure of different cities. For example, if one vehicle is manufactured for  14  passengers,  the owners of vehicles made that vehicle for  20 seaters by overloading besides the roofs of vehicles are also full with passengers and they treat them like animals,   to earn money  more and more.  

Over this situation being a sensible and responsible citizen,  I feel grave concern to observe this shameless and impertinent situation, not only this but also overtaking and racing with each other by reckless driving which is most dangerous habit is its on peak, due to some of these horrible activities frequent road accidents are daily routine.  Usually in Pakistan, specially in Bahawalpur city the way of duty of the Traffic Police is only that they made check points place to place in different areas particularly in Day Time for making their "DAILY INCOME" whereas at night they never seen on  the roads or highways to  check the law and order situation.  Quit often they made challans  of one or two vehicles for the charges  of breaking law only for completion of formalities.  The traffic police didn't take strong action against the delinquent drivers or owners of the vehicle who are committing overtaking, over speeding and overloading because they busy in preparing their "MONTHLY" through giving relaxations.   Due to these kind of negligence too many precious human resources are being wasted as a result of road accidents.  

Recently due to incompetency and negligence on the part of traffic authorities horrible accident occurred near KHAN PUR, a tragic collision between two (2) overloaded buses by reckless driving and overspeeding with badly racing each other,  consequently numerous casualties were occurred and so many people injured badly.  According to eye witnesses of this tragedy the (2) two overloaded passenger buses were openly and darely breaks the law by competing each other  with extreme level of speed and lost their control on steering. Sources  tells that both bus  drivers don't have Work permits nor  licenses, and it is profound grief to announce that in this accident seven (7) people  of same family were killed on the spot.  

"IS THIS  HORRIBLE ACCIDENT,  LESS THAN ANY RESURRECTION"

By taking a serious view over this issue Chief Minister Punjab Mr.Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constitute an Inquiry Committee  to probe into the matter and find real facts that  who is responsible for this deathly practice. 

But now there is question arises that by this inquiry team what will be done, the committee will come and go, TA/DA will be made and no one will be held responsible by the committee nor any action taken against the delinquents, only the paper work will be completed and after lapse of few days this accident will be a part of yesterday/history like others. 

In the end I would like to submit my humble submissions through this esteemed  newspaper to Chief Minister Punjab  Mr.Shahbaz Sharif the most kind and wise personality to take personal and serious view of this dangerous issue and take action against culprits for the sake of humanity and enforce the law to prevention of overloading and over speeding in letter and spirit because I  have firm believe that by the implementation of law in real manners , then any traffic official will not have to dare demanding and accepting BRIBE from common people.

NOW THE TIME HAS NOW BEEN START TO GIVE WAKE UP CALL TO THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES TO PERFORM THEIR DUTIES EFFECTIVELY TO AVOID CORRUPTION AND MALPRACTICES.
