BAHAWALPUR(PR)Minister of State for Higher Education and interior Engineer Balig-ur-Rehman has said that veteran Journalist, Columnist and intellectual late Amjad Qureshi dedicated his soul life to promote universal and glorious values of journalism which a shining chapter of our journalistic glory and grace. He made these remarks while speaking as a chief guest of a condolence reference in the honour of late journalist Ajmad Qureshi here at Bahawalpur Press Club on Sunday.

President Press Club Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti chaired the meeting. While prominent person Zahid Ali Khan was the stage secretary. "Amjad Qureshi's long a journalist carrier is a shining example of standing on the right side of the history and his unflinching commitment to the higher values of practical journalism good guide the future generations of journalistic", State Minister noted.

He further said that he would personally make efforts to ensure recognition of Amjad Qareshi services through given away at Government level. MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti in his address said that late Amjad Qureshi was a bold pourecious and honest journalist who upheld higher journalistic values who always sided with the forces of honesty and integrity. Begum further said that Amjad Qureshi's name would always shine at the journalistic radar of our Region.

Director Information Rana Ajaz Mahmood said that late Amjad Qureshi's intellectual and journalistic legacy is our collective asset. He further said that his services to promote truth with glory and grace would always guide the coming generations of Journalist.

Former MPA and prominent intellectual Syed Tabish Alwari in his address said that late Amjad Qureshi's journalistic philosophy is rest value based on enlightenment, progressivism and humanism. Syed Tabish Alwari highly appreciated late Amjad Qureshi's services as the working journalist for establishing journalistic institution at the local level

Malik Habibullah Bhutta in his remarks said that late Amjad Qureshi was a towering personality in the field of journalism. Chairman History Department Professor Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi said introduced the local fraternity of local journalism with modern trends a half century ago and his imprints on the local journalistic would always shine like a rising star.

Assistant Commissioner City Rao Tasleem Akhtar in his remarks said that in his death curtain fell on an era of journalism.

The Ceremony was addressed by Khursheed Nazar, Iqbal Khalid, Dr. Nasrullah, Saeed Ahmed, Akram Nasir,  Dr. Mazhar-ul-Haq Attique, Professor Qudratullah Shahzad and Dr. Ramzan.

The Ceremony was attended by a large number of people including MPA Haseena Naz. Later, commemorative shield was awarded to the family of late Amjad Qureshi on behalf of District Press Club and District Administration. At the end of the ceremony Fatiha was also offered and it was prayed that his soul may rest peace
