BAHAWALPUR(PR) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has
directed the concerned officials to expedite the on-going developmental work at
Punjab Housing servants' foundation society on fast track basis. He issued
these directions while presiding over a high level meeting held at his
conference room, here, today. The meeting was attended by Assistant
Commissioner Revenue, Superintending engineer MEPCO, Assistant Executive
Engineer Railways, Assistant Project Director Housing and other officers and
officials of the concerned departments.
Commissioner Bahawalpur division Saqib Zafar directed
the concerned officials to install electricity poles and other fixtures within
one week. Earlier, the meeting was briefed in detail about the on-going
developmental work.

Anwer Mahar paid a visit at Arts Council Gulzar-e-Sadiq Bahawalpur. DCO visited
various portions of the auditorium. He directed the concerned security staff to
be vigilant to protect this decades old cultural heritage of the city. He also
assured that all available resources would be mobilized by district government
to build this historic auditorium to meet the futuristic requirements of
performing art. Earlier, Resident Director Bahawalpur Art Council Rana Ajaz
Mahmood in his briefing maintained that Punjab government was fully committed
to promote art and a huge sum of development funds would be spent to build a
modern art performing platform which would be a splendid blend of architectural
heritage and future trends of designing and architect to promote the performing
art on decent scientific lines.

Shaikh Naeem paid a visit at Borstle Institute and Juvenile Jail
Bahawalpur. During his visit he inspected barracks of inmate children,
jail
hospital, kitchen, grain warehouse, school and library of the jail. On
this
occasion, he also gave sympathetic hearing to the problems and
grievances of
the inmate children.

Anwer Mahar has said that government is mobilizing all available
resources on
priority basis to modernize the agriculture sector by providing modern
agricultural equipments to the farmers in the far flung areas. He made
these
remarks while presiding over a meeting of the sub-committee of Task
force for
anti adulteration of pesticide and fertilizer at his committee room. The
meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Agriculture task force
Hussain Sardar, Additional District Collector Mrs. Nausheen Malik, EDO
agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad and other officers and officials of
the
concerned departments.

Sardar while addressing the meeting maintained that a comprehensive program has
been chalked out regarding destruction of herbs which would start on 6th
of February and would continue till 12th of February. He also urged
upon the officials of the agriculture department to immediately destroy the
cotton sticks after the picking of cotton.
"To protect the economic rights of farmers,
samples of pesticides and fertilizers should be collected and chemically
examined at the concerned laboratories", He noted.
He directed the officers of agriculture department to
hold the meeting of district and divisional agricultural committees on regular
basis and personally visit to inspect the utilization of government provided
agricultural equipments to the farmers.
Earlier, EDO Agriculture Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmad while
briefing the meeting maintained that 169 samples of fertilizer were collected
and out of them 12 were found sub standard, therefore, imposed a fine to the
tune of Rs. 20 thousand and 800 and 13 FIRs were also lodged against the
violators. Besides, as many as 445 samples of pesticides were also collected
and out of them 15 samples were found sub standard, therefore, imposed a fine
to the tune of Rs. 14 thousand and 945 and 16 FIRs were also lodged against the
violators.
DO Civil Defence has
launched a crack-down against the persons involved in illegal LPG refilling and
un-authorized selling of petrol and diesel
BAHAWALPUR(PR) District Officer Civil Defence Ms. Fatima has
launched a crack-down against the persons involved in illegal LPG refilling and
un-authorized selling of petrol and diesel at district Bahawalpur. She raided
as many as 50 various outlets of these illegal business activity and has lodged
45 cases at various police stations for registration of FIRs.
According to details District Officer Civil Defence
conducted raids at various places of Bahawalpur district which include:- 10
raids at Tehsil Yazman, 15 raids at Bahawalpur City, 5 raids at Bahawalpur
Sadar and 5 raids at Tehsil Hasilpur and has initiated legal actions against
the violators involved in the illegal selling of petrol and diesel and
refilling of LPG. She also inspected 9 hotels at various places of Ahamadpur
East and has initiated legal proceedings pertaining to improper safety and fire
fighting arrangements at these hotels.

talking on this occasion maintained that this crackdown has been undertaken
under the directions of Director Civil Defence Punjab Dr. Amir Ali Hussain and
District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahar.

development schemes 2016-17 and sports activities in Bahawalpur division would
be held at 11:00 AM on 19th of November at the committee room of DCO

institute of education and awareness would start from 19th of
November at library complex of central library Bahawalpur. The children
literary festival would have wide ranging events which include: - puppet show,
