Special mega development project for Cholistan is aimed to extend solid and sustainable socio physical infrastructure in the vast area of Cholistan :Iqbal Channer
BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperative & Chairman Cholistan Development Authority Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has said that Chief Minister Punjab's special mega development project for Cholistan is aimed to extend solid and sustainable socio physical infrastructure in the vast area of Cholistan which would bring socio economic relief for the Cholistani people. He made these remarks while chairing a ceremony to distribute five hundred animals among the residents of 30 water pounds of Cholistani area. The ceremony was attended by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Director Live Stock CDA Dr. Shabbir Shahid, officials and officers of the concerned departments and a large number of Cholistani Community.
Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer while speaking on the occasion maintained that a massive development package of 2 billion and 350 million has multiple development projects which include:- constructing new roads, expanding the existing communication links, construction of new water pounds and repair and maintenance of the existing water pounds along other development initiatives. This massive development project is of paramount significance for sustainable and exclusive development in Cholistani area. Earlier, Provincial Minister for Cooperative & Chairman CDA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer distributed as many as 500 cattle heads amounting to Rs. 20 million among the Cholistani people. The distributed cattle heads among the Cholistanis include: - 122 Cholistani Bulls, 100 Sipli Rams, 105 Buchi Rams, 100 Jattal Bucks and 100 Khadali Rams.
Provincial Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer while speaking on the occasion maintained that distribution of cattle heads among the Cholistani people through merit based balloting process is in-line with Chief Minister Punjab's vision to modernize the live stock sector which is the back bone of agro based economy.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar while addressing the ceremony maintained that the distribution of animals to Cholistani people is a gift from Punjab Government. He appreciated the efforts of the live stock department to devise a policy which would promote live stock in Cholistan area. Earlier, Director Live stock CDA briefed the ceremony that the budget for treatment of the animals in Cholistani area has been enhanced from Rs. 30 million to Rs. 50 million.


Saqib Zafar has directed concerned officials to ensure adequate security, cleanliness and operationalizing veterinary and medical camps at all cattle markets

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has directed concerned officials to devise comprehensive program to ensure adequate security, cleanliness and operationalizing veterinary and medical camps at all cattle markets and approved sale points for cattle heads in all the 3 districts of Bahawalpur Division. He issued these directions while presiding over a video link conference of all the 3 DCOs held in his conference room. The meeting was attended by DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, DCO Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal, DCO Azhar Hayat and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
While addressing the meeting Commissioner Saqib Zafar directed all the concerned officials to make fool proof security arrangements by erecting barbed wire around the cattle markets, operationalize generators for proper lightening and establish security check posts both on the entry and exit points of the cattle markets and approved sale points of the cattle heads. He further directed that special traffic arrangements should also be made for smooth flow of traffic during these busy days.
Commissioner Bahawalpur further maintained that Government has banned establishing of camps, pasting banners, use of loud speakers and vehicles for collecting sacrificial hides. However only authorized organizations would be allowed to collect the sacrificial hides according to rules and regulations.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Parks and Horticulture Authority Bahawalpur has undertaken the augmentation and beautification of 21 Parks, 19 green belts, 4 fountains and 11 different squares. Besides, PHA has taken an initiative to establish two food streets through public and private partnership in Bahawalpur City. This was stated by Director Administration of Parks and Horticulture Authority Rana Qazafi Bin Shakoor while giving briefing to the Media persons regarding various measures taken by PHA to beautify Bahawalpur City.


Eid Gifts distribution ceremony was held at Dar-ul-Atfaal for Boys
BAHAWALPUR(PR)A ceremony was held at Dar-ul-Atfaal for Boys to distribute Eid Gifts among the residing children. The ceremony was attended by District Officer Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal and other officers and officials of the concerned departments. This was stated by Superintendent of Dar-ul-Atfaal for boys in a press statement.
