BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has said
that Government is fully committed to extend state of the art facilities to
the players by streamlining sports infrastructure on the modern scientific
lines government has established a sports gymnasium having modern sports
facilities at dring stadium, Bahawalpur.
These sports
initiatives have yielded positive and constructive results which are
practically reflected in the outstanding performance of Bahawalpur's sportsmen
at the international level. He made these remarks at a prize giving ceremony to
the three players hailing from Bahawalpur Division who have excelled at
international level in various sports events, here, at the conference room of
his office.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur Saqib Zafar gave away cash prizes to the tune of Rs. 15 thousand to
each player which include: - Table Tennis player Muhammad Abid Iqbal, Wrestling
player Farhan Kanju and Badminton player Shahroz Jameel.
Commissioner
Bahawalpur highly appreciated the high quality of skill and expertise of these
players who have brought glory and grace in the sport arena for Bahawalpur
Division. Additional Commissioner Syed Wassem Hassan, Divisional sports Officer
Syed Mateen Ahmad and District sports officer Maqsood-ul-Hassan Javed were also
present on this occasion.
Wrestler Farhan
Kanju secured 3rd position in World University games held at Turkey,
Shehroz Jameel got prominent position at Badminton junior Asia Cup held at
Bangkok Thailand and Muhammad Abid Iqbal secured 2nd position at
SARC Table Tennis competition held at Karachi.
"Bahawalpur enjoys
glorious distinction in the field of sports at the global level its players
have earned glory for their native place", Commissioner Bahawalpur Saqib
Zafar maintained.
He said that these
three players are the true sports ambassadors of Pakistan who would continue to
excel at international level.

anti adulteration drive had conducted as many as 1817 raids at various food
outlets, sealed 14 food points, lodged 17 FIRs and arrested 14 accused and
imposed a fine to the tune of Rs. 2.6 million upon the violators of Government
rules in District Bahawalpur in the month of October.
District food committee under the supervision of
Additional District Collector Bahawalpur, Mohterma. Nausheen Malik conducted as
many as 1717 raids at various places of the district, sealed 10 food points,
lodged 3 FIRs, arrested 12 violators and imposed fine to the tune of Rs. 1.3
million and 62 thousand.
Similarly, During the month of October Assistant
Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter also conducted raids at 100
food outlets, sealed 10 food points, arrested 2 violators and imposed fine to
the tune of Rs. 1.3 million.
Additional District Collector Mrs. Nausheen Malik has
urged upon the members of civil society and consumers to play their
constructive role by extending their practical cooperation to protect the
rights of consumers by lodging their complaints at free help line
"Aawaz-e-Khalq 1718" of District Administration Bahawalpur.

BAHAWALPUR(PR) Divisional task force for drug control Bahawalpur
conducted raids at 884 medical stores, checked 87 samples of medicines and
consequently sealed 68 medical stores, lodged 13 FIRs against the violators of
drug control act and imposed fine to the tune of Rs. 2.6 million during the
last month of October. As many as 69 cases were also registered against the
person involved in quackery.
Drug Controller Bahawalpur inspected:- 224 medical
stores, collected 50 samples o medicines, sealed 25 medical stores, registered cases
against 22 quacks and imposed fine to the tune of Rs. 1.3 million and 34
thousand in district Bahawalpur
At district Rahim Yar Khan drug controller
inspected:- 336 medical stores, collected 54 samples of medicines, sealed 27
medical stores, lodged 29 FIRs against the violators of drug act and imposed
fine to the tune of Rs. 1.1 million and 61 thousand.
Similarly, at district Bahawalnagar drug controller
conducted raids at:- 294 medical stores, collected 83 samples of medicines,
sealed 16 medical stores, registered case against 18 Quacks and imposed fine to
the tune of Rs. one lac and 79 thousand.
