BAHAWALPUR(PR) Provincial Minister for forests, Wild life and
fisheries Yaver Zaman has said that Government is fully committed to mobilize
all available resources to protect both wild life and natural habitat through
adopting modern scientific mechanism to enhance the aesthetic profile of Lal
Suhanra Park Bahawalpur. He made these remarks while presiding over a high
level departmental meeting at the conference room of Commissioner Bahawalpur.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Secretary
forest Jahanzaib Khan, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar, Assistant
Commissioner General Syed Waseem Hassan, Conservator forest Faisal Haroon,
District Forest Officer Wajid Hussain, DFO Bahawalpur Tajammul Hussain, Curator
Bahawalpur Zoo Mushtaq Qaisrani and other officers and officials of the
concerned departments.
During the meeting Provincial Secretary forest
Jahanzaib Khan briefed that the desilting process of 4 thousand acres of area
of Lal Suhanra Lake was under way. The meeting was further briefed that tree
plantation at an estimated area of 1212 acres was also underway while a road
network of 37 Kilometers from Lal Suhanra to Lake has already been completed by
spending funds to the tune of Rs. 37 million. 5 acres of land has also been
allocated to conduct research to protect and promote indigenes herbs and
natural Desert plants.
The meeting also reviewed the construction process of
2 conventional Gopas and historic hut at Lal Suhanra Bahawalpur.
Provincial Minister Yaver Zaman urged upon the
concerned officials to accelerate the pace of tree plantation at Hasilpur road
along with taking special measures to protect breeds of black buck and Chankara
deers.
