Model Bazar Bahawalpur
                                BAHAWALPUR(PR)Mayor
municipal corporation Bahawalpur Aqeel Najam Hashmi paid a surprise visit at
Model Bazar Bahawalpur. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor, municipal
corporation Bahawalpur Malik Muneer Iqbal Channar. During his visit he
inspected various stalls of basic essentials:- fruits; vegetables; meat and
kitchen items.
                                He
also inspected utility store, play land and mosque of the Model Bazar. During
his visit management committee Zulfiqar Shah Bukhari brief the visiting mayor
that out of 210 stalls, there were 140 stalls which was fully operational.
Mayor Aqeel Najam Hashmi asked the concerned officials of the Model Bazar to
take immediate steps to allot the remaining stalls to make Model Bazar fully
operational to extend economic relief to the consumers. He also assured that to
constitute board of Directors of Management committee of Model Bazar would be
constituted for its smooth functioning and necessary proposals in this regard
would be forwarded to the concerned quarters.
                                Mayor
Municipal Corporation Bahawalpur Aqeel Najam Hashmi urged upon the concerned
officials to ensure the provision of fresh and quality fruits and vegetables
along with essential items according to the price list approved for the model
Bazar.
 AD&SJ Afaq Jajja paid a visit at Borstal institute and
juvenile jail Bahawalpur

District & session Judge Lodhran  Afaq Jajja paid a visit at Borstal institute and
juvenile jail Bahawalpur. During his visit, he gave sympathetic hearing to
various grievances and complaint of the inmates and issued necessary directions
to redress them. Superintendent Jail Rizwan Saeed Gujjar & Deputy
Superintendent Asad Kamran were also present at this occasion.

literary competition 2016-17 were held at Govt. Degree College for women Dubai  Mahal road Bahawalpur. During the contest Inter, Degree & Post Graduate
level winners of district level contest of Urdu essay and speech participated
in the event.
                                At
inter level contest the topic of essay writing was: Drugs are threat to
society. Samra Riaz of Govt. Degree College for women satellite town Bahawalpur
stood first while Salma Sadiq of Degree College of Science Khanpur and Alina
Rehman of Govt. Degree College for women Haroon Abad secured second and third
position in the inter level contest of essay writing.
                                The
Topic of Degree level contest of Urdu essay writing was:"peace is the need
of contemporary era". Atifa Qadeer of Govt. College for women stood first;
while Amna Shaukat of the same college; while Amna Zuhra of Govt. College for
women Rahimyar Khan secured second and third position in the degree level essay
writing contest.
                                The
topic of post graduate level contest was entitles: in-equality among people
breeds social destructions. Amna Shehzadi of Govt. S.E. College stood first;
while Ayesha Bukhari of Govt. Post Graduate College Bahawalpur and Nabeela
Tabbasum of Govt. Post graduate college Bahawalpur secured second and third
position in the Post graduate level essay writing contest.

Highway Patrol Bahawalpur region organized badminton and volley ball tournament
for its officials hailing from three districts. DSP Patrolling Highway Police
Atia Naheed gave away prizes among the winning teams. Volley Ball Tournament
was won by Bahawalpur team while Badminton single and Badminton double was won
by the teams of Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur districts respectively.

                                The
topic of Post graduate debate contest was entitled:- ''The emphasis in
Pakistani Universities is more on quantitative rather than qualitative
research". Amna Abdullah and Zartasha Saleem secured first and second
position respectively hailing from Govt. Post Graduate College Chishtian while
Amna Haider of Govt. College of Commerce Bahawalnagar stood third in the debate
contest of post graduate level.
                                The
topic of degree level debate contest was:-"There should be separate universities
for men". Qindeel Fatima of Govt. Degree College for women Dubai Mahal
road, Ammara Maqsood of Nikas College Khanpur, Ruqayya Fatima of Govt. Post
graduate college stood first, second and third respectively in this contest.
                                At
the inter level Urdu debate contest Hina Majeed of Post graduate college
Hasilpur stood first while Zunira Abbad of Govt. Degree College satellite town
Bahawalpur and Zainab Asghar of Govt. Post Graduate college Haroon Abad secured
second and third position respectively in this contest.
