ProgrammeBAHAWALPUR(PR)The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been awarded
12 research grants by the Higher Education Commission under National Research
Programme for universities for the year 2016. The Islamia University of
Bahawalpur is on 6th position among 21 research awards winning
universities of the Punjab. This is for the first time that the university has
been awarded research grants in such a large number which reflects tremendous
progress of the university in research and academic activities under the visionary
leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. The university
submitted 47 research project proposals, 33 projects were selected in the
initial screening and finally 12 projects were approved for research grant. It
is important to mention that Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan has also won a
research grant for the first time. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor is
currently leading the both universities and his dynamic leadership has resulted
in this outstanding achievement. Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana
awarded research grants in a special ceremony held at Lahore yesterday. Chairman
Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad was also present on this
occasion. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, senior faculty members and
research awardees attended the ceremony.
