BAHAWALPUR(PR)Rich tribute was paid to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in a seminar
held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on his 120th death
anniversary. The seminar was part of the co-curricular activities regularly organized
on direction of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor to provide significant
educational enrichment to students which is a natural complement to academic
activities at the campus. On this occasion, Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi, Chairman
Department of history said that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was a great patriotic and
visionary Muslim leader in the subcontinent who highlighted that Muslim youth
need to equip themselves with modern education. This was the only way to get
rid of slavery and liberate the nation. His thoughts revolutionized the social,
political and economic life of Indian Muslims and ultimately paved the way for
independence.
