THE PRESENT CHIEF EDITOR OF DAILY SUTLEJ  MR.FAZAL HAMEED AHMED  WAS DEAREST & NEAREST DISCIPLE OF ALI AHMED RIFFAT (LATE).

AT PRESENT DAILY "SUTLEJ" IS BEING PUBLISHED FROM THREE  (3) CITIES SIMULTANEOUSLY (I.E. ) FROM BAHAWALPUR, BAHAWALNAGAR & LODHRAN SUCCESSFULLY UNDER THE PRESENT DYNAMIC & WISE LEADERSHIP BESIDES HARD WORK OF DAY & NIGHT OF MR.FAZAL HAMEED AHMED.

In Bahawalpur Division  the Daily "Sutlej" is serving the people approximately from half century and became the voice of people of Bahawalpur which is echoing in the corridors of Government.   The founder of  "Sutlej" was Brig.Syed Nazir Ali  Shah  (late) was a Military man, brave and systematic person, because of his Military engagements he has to deal on priority basis that's why he could not pay proper attention to "Sutlej".  

But on  the other hand he also wanted to made journalism more and more comprehensive and strengthen through the forum of "Sutlej" in Bahawalpur Division.  For this purpose he was looking for a suitable person to look after and run the newspaper enthusiastically by following his footsteps,  and then   finally on the basis of essence of right person recognition, he selected Ali Ahmed Riffat (Late) and transferred all Rights of "Sutlej" in the name of  Ali Ahmed Riffat (Late).

Ali Ahmed Riffat was a brilliant, fearless, passionate and educated young man. He changed "Sutlej" into WEEKLY from MONTHLY by devoted all his skills for the progress and betterment of this newspaper. He played a prominent and vital role in the wake up of people of Bahawalpur whom bounded with dual slavery system through this newspaper.

Today the journalism of Bahawalpur is in it's mature and developed shape due to the sacrifices of many great people step by step.  In this connection here are so many examples of selflessness and sacrifices found of Ali Ahmed Riffat (Late ) that's why he was the pioneer of fearless journalism in Bahawalpur.

Whenever the history of journalism of Bahawalpur would be compiled, the name of Ali Ahmed Riffat ( Late ) will be written in golden words.  Almost 50 years he enjoyed the domination on the sky of journalism / press through his excellent leadership abilities.  On the recognition of his services he was awarded the Title as "BABA-E-SAHAFAT" (Father of journalism) in 1974  at  District Council Hall Bahawalpur which was presided over by the  Law Minister Mr. S .M. Masood.  

Ali Ahmed Riffat's  intellectual and literary writings with spontaneous comments on current affairs created a new wave of democracy in the people of Bahawalpur to awakened the awareness of people.  He always observed the principles of journalism.  But whenever the dignity of journalism comes into hardships/hot water then immediately he put aside personal differences and appear in the collective interest of nation/country.   

In the journey of journalism he faced a lot of difficulties / adversities but  in fact he dedicated his sunny & bright mornings, beautiful and grey evenings, warm and cold nights for the promotion of journalism.  In this long and hard travel of journalism there is no reduction observed in his enthusiasm or obsession.

In the past "Sutlej " remains  the representative newspaper of people and still performing the duties of representing the people. The policy of Daily "Sutlej " is neutral and it's ideas are full of patriotic.  Like past Daily  Sutlej is still spokesperson of realities and his mission is to serve the nation.   

The present  Chief Editor of Daily  "Sutlej" Mr.Fazal Hameed Ahmed was the dearest and nearest student/disciple of Ali Ahmed Riffat ( Late ).  During the period of Ali Ahmed Riffat's illness Mr.Fazal Hameed Ahmed has extended full cooperation for his teacher's nursing day & night vigorously in the last days of  his life  besides organized and published Daily "Sutlej" simultaneously from Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Lodhran. That's real passion and interest in practical & professional life takes Mr.Fazal Hameed Ahmed into the field / Island of journalism.   Mr.Fazal Hameed is highly qualified courageous and fearless journalist and he believes in healthy journalism.   According to the desire of Ali Ahmed Riffat ( Late )  the present Chief Editor Mr. Fazal Hameed Ahmed is continuously focusing on hard work,  honesty and passion  and under his wise leadership Sutlej ' s successful  journey is on the way and in future Inshallah this journey of Daily  "Sutlej" will be continued till remains the world. 

Daily "Sutlej" meets all the requirements of positive and quality journalism which is a clear evidence of its success.  The Daily "Sutlej" impartial policy is the clear evidence that the present Chief Editor of Daily "Sutlej" Mr.Fazal Hameed Ahmed is believe in higher values of journalism and the journey of Daily "Sutlej" from weekly to daily is the outcome of continuous hard work passion and fury of Mr.Fazal Hameed Ahmed will always be continued Insha Allah.
