The Govt Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur Organized Three Days Training Workshop on “Research Methodology” under English Language Teaching

Ms. Nosheen Malik, Manager Career Counseling Center, GSCWU, Bahawalpur submitted a training proposal requesting to Learning Innovation Division (Higher Education Commission) for organizing Three days Training on Research Methodology.
After the approval of this proposal, Learning Innovation Division (HEC) provided opportunity of professional development to the faculty members of Govt Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur through three days training program. The main purpose for organizing this training workshop is to educate young researchers/teachers about different research methods and techniques.  . 
Keeping in view the Manager Career Counseling (Ms. Nosheen Malik) scheduled the training from September 25-27, 2017. Almost 25 participants were invited from GSCWU, IUB, NCBA&E and other post graduate institutions. For this purpose three Resource persons were invited for conducting nine sessions. The first resource person was Dr Mamuna Ghani (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Chairman, Department of English, Islamia University, Bahawalpur). She explained in her sessions that the importance of research in education is very vital. This is because of various reasons like in education, research is essential as it gives the systematic analysis of the topic. Also the objectives those should be clearly defined through the research process. Research needs to study in a systematic and controlled manner, and this is exactly what the work provides an individual.
The second Resource Person was Dr.Irshad Hussain (Chairman, Department of Educational Training, IUB). He delivered the sessions on Research Methods as he talked on Introduction to Social Science Research Methods
During this session, He discussed the stages in the research process and the things you need to consider when designing your research project. This session presents some resources, including places to look for secondary data, forums and guidance. He further classified the research methods into two groups one are types of research methods according to the nature of study and second are types of research methods according to the purpose of the study.
The third Resource Person was Dr Riaz Hussain (Assisstant Professor, Department of English, IUB). He explained that purpose of a research paper should be known before writing it. It can be formulated as a research paper question, a thesis statement or a hypothesis statement.
He conveyed that if you do not know what to write about, you will have to look for ideas for research paper topics.
This session covered the logical steps to writing a good research paper. As to achieve supreme excellence or perfection in anything we do, we need more than just the knowledge. That is the real start to writing an A+ research paper.
At the end of this event the chief guest Prof. Dr. Talat Afza (Vice Chancellor, GSCWU) appreciated the whole activity. She appreciated the Efforts of Ms. Nosheen Malik , Manager CCC for arranging the three days training and lastly distributed shields to the resource persons and certificates among the participants.
