BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has called upon Doctors and paramedics of district Bahawalpur to perform their duties with missionary zeal by fully adhering to Chief Minister Punjab's health care vision. He made these remarks while addressing Faculty members of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College; doctors and paramedics of Bahawal Victoria Hospital at the auditorium of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, here, today. Those who were present on this occasion were:- Principal QAMC Professor Dr. Haroon Khurshid Pasha; Medical Superintendent of Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr. Shahid Faraz and other concerned officers and officials of the BVH.
"Chief Minister Punjab's health care vision envisages the best medical cover to the patients right from treasury medical facilities to the primary health care level", he noted.
DCO said that both doctors and paramedics have the privilege and honour to serve in the noble profession like medical care. "This sacred profession is fully engaged to serve the ailing humanity by administering medical care", he noted. He underlined the need to mobilize all available resources by health officials available at the healthcare facilities by focusing their energies to provide maximum healthcare to the patients who visit hospitals. He called upon both doctors and paramedics to come forward to attain a high level of professional excellence by treating the patients with care and devotion. He directed the concerned authorities that the doctors should visit regularly twice in a day at their respective wards which would enhance the quality of healthcare at the state run health facilities.
"Special measures should be adopted for maintaining neat and clean environment by paying special attention regarding sanitary arrangements", he noted.
Earlier, while speaking on the occasion principal QAMC Professor Dr. Haroon Khurshid Pasha assured the District Co-ordination Officer that both doctors and paramedics would perform their professional duties with commitment and dedication to turn Chief Minister Punjab's health vision into reality.
"Chief Minister Punjab has granted greater administrative and financial powers to Medical Superintendents which would highly enhance both qualitative and quantum improvement in the functioning of the hospitals", Dr. Pasha maintained.


Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar visited dialysis center established at Kidney centre

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar visited dialysis center established at Kidney centre and operationalize this newly established facility at BVH on saturday.
Earlier, DCO Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has visited BVH a week ago and this dialysis unit was found in dilapidated condition. So, DCO has directed to shift this dialysis unit to the neurology department within a week. Resultantly, after hectic and dedicated efforts of the hospital's administration the dialysis unit was shifted to nephrology department within the stipulated period of one week.
District Co-ordination Officer highly appreciated hospital authority's dedicated efforts to fully functionalize the dialysis unit which would serve as major step towards providing adequate medical treatment to the kidney patients at BVH. On this occasion DCO directed hospital authorities to provide more wheel chairs to the patients. He also asked the concerned authorities to operationalize the lift facility for the patients also.
He also went to the patients and inquired after their health and sought their feedback pertaining to the health facilities provided to them.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent BVH Dr. Shahid Faraz informed the DCO that there were 16 machines at the dialysis unit of BVH.


Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar  directed  PHA to remove all illegally installed billboards in the larger public interest


BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has directed the concerned authorities of PHA to remove all illegally installed billboards in the larger public interest. He issued these directions while presiding over a high-level meeting which was held in his conference room to review the arrangements for removing illegal installation of billboards.
The meeting was attended by DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar; Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter; Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Sadar Husnain Khalid Sanpal; Director PHA Qazafi bin Shakoor and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
Commissioner Bahawalpur took serious note of installing billboards at highly sensitive public places which may pose threat to the lives of the citizens. Therefore, he directed that all billboards installed at sensitive public places must immediately be removed and strict disciplinary action should be initiated against the violators of the Standard Operating Procedure of the government of Punjab in this regard. Commissioner Bahawalpur further directed that all billboards which had been installed a top weak and vulnerable structures must immediately be pulled down and measures should be taken to numerate all the billboards. He also directed to the concerned authorities to check the tendency of placing indecent and immoral material on the billboards and asked the concerned authorities to specify the public places for installing billboards necessary to deliver public service messages.
Director General PHA assured the meeting that stringent measures would be taken in the light of the directions of the government of Punjab regarding installations of billboards by PHA Bahawalpur.




PHA has postponed the schedule of holding interviews

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehsan Sadiq has said that Victim Response officers have resolved as many as 50 thousand cases pertaining to minor crimes against persons and property through arbitration and mutual consent of the contestant parties which is a practical manifestation of community policing in Bahawalpur division. He made these remarks during a meeting with parliamentarians here at his office. Those who participated in meeting include:- Provincial Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer; Provincial parliamentary secretary MPA Khalid Mehmood Jajja; MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti; MPA Afzal Gill; MPA Qazi Adnan Farid; MPA Kazim Peerzada; MPA Ejaz Shafi; MPA Mian Islam Aslam; MPA Fouzia Ayyub Qureshi; MPA Hasina Begum; DPO Bahawalpur Sarfraz Ahmad Falki and SSP RIB Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta.
Regional Police Officer briefed the parliamentarians regarding ongoing crack-down against criminal elements.
"Special measures have been taken to burst brothel houses; gambling and narcotics dens which has led to lowering the incidence of crime in the Bahawalpur region", he noted.
He further briefed that as many as 150 police officers have been sent out their respective districts by mobilizing internal accountability process. He further said that a hot-line has also been operationalize at regional office which has ensured online access to the complainants and so far more than 500 complaints have been addressed through this mechanism.
"A zero tolerance policy has been adopted against proclaim offenders; tout and land grabber which has improved law and order situation and has further enhance the environment of peace and tranquility", he said.
Regional Police Officer further maintained that under the directions of Chief Minister Punjab to change Thana culture comprehensive and effective measures have been taken to bridge the gap between police and common citizens which has helped to reduce trust deficit between police and citizens in Bahawalpur region.
Provincial Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer highly appreciated the result oriented and effective measures adopted by the police under the command of Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehsan Sadiq. He said that special attention should be taken for prompt registration of FIR which is the initial step to ensure inexpensive and speedy justice to the genuine complainants. He also appreciated the solid steps taken by the Regional Police Officer against corrupt police officials.
Provincial Parliamentary secretary Khalid Mahmood Jajja said that the role of police has increased manifold keeping in view the prevailing security environment.
MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti appreciated the improvement in the performance of police and suggested to further enhance the process of patrolling to extend security cover to the citizens.


Section 144 imposed by DCO

BAHAWALPUR(PR)DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has banned the entry of unconcerned persons under section 144 within the radius of 100 meters of all the examination centers for the M.COM supplementary examination 2015 of Islamia University Bahawalpur within the jurisdiction of district Bahawalpur. This order has come into operation immediately and would remain effective till 26th of July.DCO Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has also  banned the entry of unconcerned persons  within the radius of 100 meters of director regional agriculture research institute Bahawalpur under section 144 during the 3rd entry test for the admission to all under graduate degree programs for academic session 2016-17 of University of agriculture Faisalabad.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Co-ordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar has directed health officials to fully utilize the modern equipments to check adulteration in the milk to protect the economic rights of the consumers in district Bahawalpur. He made these remarks while presiding over a high-level review meeting regarding the steps taken by the health department to ensure the supply of pure milk to the consumers. The meeting was attended by Executive district officer health Dr. Shahid Khaliq; District officer health (headquarter) Dr. Zeeshan Rauf; Deputy district officer health Dr. Nasrullah Khan Baluch; Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
DCO Bahawalpur appreciated health department's efforts to purchase modern equipments which would enhance the technical capacity of the field staff to check the quality of the milk at the spot in the far-flung areas of the district. He maintained that these modern equipments would enable the health staff to detect the presence of water; urea; soap; surf and salt which is allegedly used by some of the milk providing outlets and suppliers. He directed health officials to further enhance their interaction and co-ordination with price control magistrates to wipe out the menace of adulteration which is a major public health hazard.
Earlier, District health officer Dr. Zeeshan Rauf briefed the meeting that modern equipments have been purchased under the directions of DCO to equip the health officials with modern technology to check adulteration of milk.
