BAHAWALPUR(PR)The
Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of
Engineering and Technology Multan singed an MOU for collaboration in research, mutual
exchange of faculty and students and expand opportunities in the field of
engineering. The memorandum was signed by Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice
Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz, Vice
Chancellor, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology at
Vice Chancellor’s Office, Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, Bahawalpur. The two
universities will develop academic cooperation in various fields of engineering
and agreed to initiate collaborative efforts in academic areas, exchange of
faculty and researchers, exchange of students, conducting lectures, seminars,
workshops and conferences and carry out joint research projects. Prof. Dr.
Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur said that
the agreement between the two universities is significant in promoting higher education
through academic collaboration to enhance engineering education in the region. Both
sides can explore new and innovative ideas in the field of engineering that
will surely increase the capacity in respective areas. Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz,
Vice Chancellor, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology
said that, his institution being recently established can benefit with highly qualified
faculty and advanced laboratories of the Engineering College of Islamia
University of Bahawalpur. It is important to mention here that under the
leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, all four engineering programmes including
Electric, Electronic, Computer System and Telecom Engineering are accredited from
Pakistan Engineering Council, recently Civil Engineering Department has been
added and its building is under speedy completion.
