novel “ Deya Jalta Raha” written by Prof Dr Shafiq Ahmad has been published.

Bahawalpur (PR) A novel “ Deya Jalta Raha” written by Prof Dr Shafiq Ahmad, retired dean of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been published. The writer has highlighted social life of Southern Punjab and Ambala division during the period of partition of India and Pakistan. He also mentions suffering of people during mass migration, and pays tribute to visionary and generous leadership of Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbassi V, Nawab of Bahawalpur. He also presented this novel to Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The Vice Chancellor praised the literary services of Prof Dr Shafiq Ahmad.

Abdul Hannanhas qualified to participate in International Business Idea competition

Bahawalpur ( PR) Abdul Hannan, students of Department of Management Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has qualified to participate in International Business Idea competition organized by a soft drink company. He will travel to Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, United State of America to present his business idea along with 24 other brilliant Pakistani students.

Mr. Sohail Ahmad Saeed, PhD candidate and Assistant Professor Department of English IUB successfully defended his dissertation

Bahawalpur(PR) Mr. Sohail Ahmad Saeed, PhD candidate and Assistant Professor Department of English IUB successfully defended his dissertation, “Alternative Historiographies: Tariq Ali’s Islam Quintet”. He completed his research under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mamuna Ghani, Chairperson Department of English, Dean Faculty of Arts and Islamic Learning. Professor Dr Naveed Ahmad Ch. Chairperson Department of English, BZU Multan and Dr Zia Ahmad, Professor of English, Institute of Social Sciences, BZU Multan were the external examiners. The defense was fairly attended by faculty members, research students and citizens. The Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Qaiser Mushtaq, the Dean Faculty of Sciences Professor Dr Asghar Hashmi and the Dean Pharmacy and Management Sciences Professor Dr Mahmood Ahmad along with the Principal Officers of the University, and the faculty members congratulated the graduate and Professor Dr Mamuna Ghani on this occasion. It is noteworthy that so far fifteen graduates have been awarded PhD degree in English under her supervision.
