(PR)Minister state for Education and Interior Engineer Baleeg-ur-Rehman has
said the Government has been spending billion of rupees to establish state of
the art infrastructure to provide basic socio-economic facilities to the
residents of Southern Punjab. He made these
remarks while talking to various delegations who called on him at his residence.
"Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif have earmarked special development funds
to eliminate sense of deprivation which had been privilege due to the policies
of the previous governments; and these new projects would usher new era of
progress and prosperity in the Southern Punjab", the Minister maintained.
Mr. Baleeg-ur-Rehman further said
that government has been paying special attention to promote modern education
by providing foreign scholarships to the students of the area to creat modern
and state of the art human resource base in the Southern Punjab, therefore to
achieve these unprecedented socio-economic uplifts targets, development
targets, the government has enhanced budget for education, to the tune of rupees
775 billion, the minister said.
To extend higher education
facilities the Federal Government has been focusing to promote distance
learning which is manifested by the operationalizing the two Regional Campus of Allama Iqbal Open
University by spending the development funds to the tune of rupees 210 million
on these two projects; the Minister concluded.

Saqib Zafar has directed all concerned officers and officials to mobilize all
available resources to ensure fool proof security cover to all educational
institutions, business centers, recreational spots in Bahawalpur Division. He made these remarks
while presiding a high level meeting to review the security arrangements of
different departments in the Bahawalpur Division.
The meeting was attended by
District Coordination Officer Dr. Ehtisham Anwar, District Police Officer
Sarfraz Ahmed Falki, Additional Commissioner Coordination Saqib Ali Ateel,
District Officer Coordination Amjad Bashir, CEO Cantonment Board Zafar Mehmood,
Director Colleges Prof. Mehmood-ul-Hassan,
EDO Education Ch.Bashir Ahmed and
heads of different education institutions representatives traders
community and prominent religious personalities.
The meeting took a comprehensive
review of the security arrangements made by different department in accordance
with standard operational procedure of
the provincial government. The representatives of different departments
briefed the Commissioner about various
the steps taken by them to ensure a comprehensive and effective security cover
their respective departments. The Commissioner Bahawalpur division directed the
concerned authorities to pay special attention to extend security cover at all
public places specially at airports, bus stands, railway stations during the
peak hours.
He further directed that scanners
and CCTV cameras should be operationalized and their working should be monitored by the concerned focal persons in
of all the departments. Commissioner Bahawalpur emphasized that alongwith all
public places the security of academic institutions deserves special attention.
Therefore, all heads of these institutions and should focus their attention to
monitor the functionalize of CCTV
cameras walk through gates to extend fool proof security in the academic
institutions he concluded.
5901 persons have been
provided vehicles under the Chief Minister Punjab APNA Rozgar scheme :

Bahawalpur (PR) In another meeting, Commissioner
Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar said that as many as 5901 persons have been
provided vehicles under the Chief Minister Punjab APNA Rozgar scheme in the 3
districts of Bahawalpur Division. Commissioner Bahawalpur revealed these
achievements in providing self- employment opportunities to the youth of the
division.
While elaborating the different aspects of the
scheme he said that out of 5901 vehicles, 3465 Bolans while 2436 Ravi vehicles have been distributed. He further explained
that the Bahawalpur beneficiaries got 760
vehicles; Ahmadpur sharqia Tehsil 451 beneficiaries, Hasilpur 408, Khairpur
Tamewali 105 and Yazman 339 beneficiaries got Bolan and Ravi vehicles in
District Bahawalpur.
The beneficiaries of the APNA rozgar scheme of
Rahim Yar Khan District include:- 617 in Tehsil Sadiqabad, 488 in Tehsil
Khanpur, 532 Liaqatpur and 1008 vehicles for Rahim Yar Khan Tehsils, the
commissioner said.
Commissioner Bahawalpur further stated that the
beneficiaries of Bahawalnagar district were:- 369 in Bahawalnagar tehsil, 353
Chishtian, 160 Fort
Abbas, 263 Haroon Abad
and 175 Minchan Abad.
Commissioner Saqib Zafar explained that in the
APNA Rozgar Scheme beneficiaries have been provided these vehicles on interest
free and easy installments basis which has enabled thousands of the youth of
the area to start their own business. This scheme would go a long way to
promote the culture of self employment among the youth of the area, he
concluded.
Initial
process for the registration of hunters in Punjab and computerizing their
record has been started: Khalid Ayaz Khan
LAHORE(PR) Director
General Wildlife and Parks Khalid Ayaz Khan said that initial process for the
registration of hunters in Punjab and
computerizing their record has been started. He said that after completely
computerizing the record registered hunters will be informed via SMS about the
open hunting areas as well as restricted hunting areas and other facilities
will be provided in this regard.
He said this today while presiding over a special meeting in the office
regarding stoppage of illegal hunting. Along with Deputy Director Head Quarter
Muhammad Naeem Bhatti other field officers were present on the occasion. Khalid
Ayaz Khan stressed upon the officers under vision of Chief Minster Punjab,
illegal hunting will be discouraged at all level and instructions issued from
the department regarding implementation of Wildlife Act.
Director General Wildlife and Parks Khalid Ayaz Khan was given briefing in the
meeting by the department that department has taken actions against illegal
hunters and 3096 illegal hunters has been given challan and 1761 FIRs
registered from which 1569 cases perused by the court and fined 31 lakh 31
thousand rupees in annual year 2015. Moreover, departmental officers have
collected fine from the acused persons worth rupees 1 crore 6 lakh and 7
thousand for the violation of Wildlife Act.

VALIDATION AND AUDIT OF MEDICINES PROCUREMENT STARTS IN PUNJAB
LAHORE(PR)A special meeting of Cabinet Committee on Dengue
was held on Thursday at Civil Secretariat under the Chairmanship of
Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khawaja Salman Raffique. Besides,
Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, DG Health Services Dr.
Mukhtar Hussain Syed, Senior Officers of the department and Medical
Superintendents of public sector hospitals attended the meeting. The
medical superintendents of the hospitals of other districts participated in the
meeting through video link. Secretary Dengue Expert Advisory Group (DEAG) and
Associate Professor of King Edward Medical University Dr. Somiya Iqtidar shared
the information regarding dengue patients reporting with the medical
superintendents of the hospitals and provided guidance regarding the
filling of outdoor and indoor form prepared for dengue patients by DEAG.
Khawaja Salman Raffique directed all the medical superintendents to ensure
filling of OPD and registration form of dengue patients and data sharing with
the Punjab Information Technology Board. He directed that dengue counters and
high dependency unit established in the hospitals should be kept functional.
The meeting reviewed indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance activities by the
surveillance teams. Secretary primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan
directed the officers that DHQ and THQ hospitals should send daily report
regarding the suspected, probable and confirmed dengue patients to the
department and PITB.
Khawaja Salman Raffique informed that as per directions of Chief Minister
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, medicines audit of the teaching hospitals as well as
DHQ and THQ hospitals has been started and a Chartered Firm M/s. Earnest &
Young has been assigned the target which would be completed within 10 to 12
weeks. The representatives of M/s E&Y Ali Qamar apprised the meeting
regarding methodology of third party validation and medicines audit of the
hospitals.
3rd SEMINAR
ON TRAINING NEED ANALYSIS ORGANIZED AT EMERGENCY SERVICES ACADEMY RESCUE 1122
LAHORE (PR)A day long Training Need Analysis Seminar, in
order to standardize training modules as per operational requirements, was
concluded with successful completion of the courses and mutual agreement
between all senior officers of the Service after consensus here at Emergency
Services Academy, Lahore on Monday. The Director General Emergency Services
Academy (Rescue 1122) Brig. (R) Amir Hamza chaired the Seminar, which was
attended by the Registrar Academy Dr. Muhammad Farhan Khalid, Regional
Emergency Officers (North & South) Mian Riffat Zia & Dr. Zaffar Shah,
Deputy Director (P&D) Faheem Ahmad Qureshi, Deputy Director (HR) Dr. Foaad
Shahzad Mirza, DD (Finance) Naeem Mukhtar, DD (R&M) Engr. Irfan Naseer, DD
(Operations) Ayaz Aslam, District Emergency Officer Rawalpindi Dr. Abdur
Rehman, DEO Sialkot Syed Kamal Abid, DEO RY Khan Dr. Abdul Staar Babar besides
other officers and other faculty members of the Academy.
The District Emergency Officers Rawalpindi Dr. Abdur Rehman, DEO R.Y Khan Dr.
Abdul Staar Babar, DEO Sialkot Syed Kamal Abid and other senior officers
presented upgraded training modules for different courses including Mountain
Rescue etc. The house comprising of senior officers of districts, Rescue 1122
Headquarters and the faculty of the Emergency
Services Academy
unanimously agreed upon the upgraded courses for final implementation for
ultimate betterment of the Service.

Hamza, while addressing the seminar, said that this was need of the hour to
finalize training modules, different level courses thus opening the long
awaited promotional criteria for rescue officers and officials. “We are glad
today that we have come up with final solution as all stakeholders have
unanimously adopted the courses,” he said, adding that such courses are
necessary for capacity building of officers, instructors and rescuers in order
to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. Brig. Amir
Hamza stated that we are imparting theoretical & practical training among
rescue cadets here in the ESA through the best available trained instructors
and the performance of Rescue 1122 during different emergency operations
reflect the training standards of the Academy. He further said that the
training facility of Murree shall be utilized in future for effective
management of height rescue & fall from height rescue operations.
Later, the Director General Punjab Emergency
Service (Rescue 1122), Brig. (R) Dr. Arshad Zia also joined the seminar and
thanked all the officers and faculty of the Academy for brainstorming and
arrangements of the seminar.
