selection board meeting of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur
Bahawalpur ( PR) The selection board meeting of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held, it was the 7th consecutive meeting held under the chair of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor, since his joining had taken serious notice of deficiency of teaching staff at every level in all the departments. As a result, selection board meetings were held on regular basis participated by top level experts from across the country to appoint professors, associate professors and assistant professors. It is pertinent to mention here that the process of appointment and promotion of faculty member was stopped since 2012 and mentioned selection board meetings have been convened to recruit faculty based on the posts advertised during 2012 and 2014. The university had advertised teaching posts during these years but was unable to hold selection board meeting. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq prioritized the regular meetings of selection board and now most of the posts have been filled. The meritocracy and transparency in the recruitment process has been lauded both at government and education circles. This step has also helped in significant raise of university ranking.
