BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Minister for Cooperatives Malik
Muhammad Iqbal Channer has maintained that Punjab Government has operationalzed
318 Ramzan Bazars with an allocation of Rs.5 billions under Ramzan package
which has extended economic relief to millions of consumers through
concessionary price regime in 36 districts of Punjab.
He made these remarks while taking to
consumers during a surprise visit of Ramzan Bazar at Khankan Sharif in District
Bahawalpur. He was accompanied by MPA Shoaib Awaisi.
Mr. Channer inspected the arrangements of
supplying quality of food products at concessionary rates by visiting different
stalls of kitchen items; soft drinks; vegetables; meat and chicken. He also
checked the proceedings of supplying of Flour and Sugar at the Fair Price Shops
at the Ramzan Bazar.
Mr. Channer appreciated the arrangements
made by the local administration to ensure exact weighting of the foodstuff
through electronic weight machines along with installing electronic LED rate
lists which has enabled the consumers to have proper awareness of the
prevailing price at Ramzan Bazar.

Khalid Sanpal briefed the Minister that an effort mechanism has been evolved to
provide fresh and hygienic vegetables and fruits twice a day.

Ehtasham Anwar Mahar has said that effective monitoring process of the
auctioning at vegetable market has channelized a sustainable supply mechanism
of fresh fruits and vegetables at affordable
rates to the consumers during the Holy month of Ramzan in all the Tehsils
of District Bahawalpur.
He made these remarks while talking to
consumers during monitoring process of the auction at vegetable market in
Bahawalpur City .
"In all the Tehsils of District
Bahawalpur which include:- Ahmedpur East, Yazman, Khairpur Tamewali and
Bahawalpur City, and Bahawlapur Saddar Assistant Commissioners have been tasked
to monitor the auction process of the fruits and vegetables to ensure the
sustainable mechanism supply to the consumers in District Bahawlapur " ,
he noted.
He said that all relevant departments
include:- Agriculture Department, Market Committee and others departments are
engaged to ensure provision of fruits and vegetables to the consumers at
concessionary rates.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Provincial Secretary live-stock Naseem Sadiq
paid a surprise visit to 3 Ramzan Bazars established in different localities of
Bahawalpur City. Secretary live-stock inspected different stalls
of kitchen items; fruits; vegetables; meat; chicken and other edibles and
inspected both the quality of food stuff and the concessionary price regime and
check the implementation of the concessionary price lists. He also visited
health camps at these Ramzan Bazars and inspected the stock register of
medicines. While talking to the consumers who were present there for shopping,
Secretary live-stock said that government was mobilizing all available
resources to ensure quality edibles in the open markets at affordable prices
while high quality food stuff was being provided through an effective and comprehensive
concessionary price management mechanism at these Ramzan Bazars throughout the
province. The consumers expressed satisfaction for the arrangements to extend
economic relief to them at the Ramzan Bazars.

concessionary rates in Bahawalpur district. He made these remarks while paying
a surprise visit at Ramzan Bazar at Uch Sharif at district Bahawalpur, here,
today.
"As many as 318 Ramzan Bazars have been
fully operationlize to provide kitchen items; soft drinks; vegetables; fruits;
sugar; flour and Ghee at much cheaper rate to then that of prevailing rates in
the open markets which is a practical reflection of Chief Minister Punjab's
missionary endeavor to extend economic relief to the consumers during the holy
month of Ramzan", he underlined.
He directed Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Pur
east to maximize efforts to further stream-line the sustainable delivery of
flour and sugar at the fair price shops to the consumers at Ramzan Bazars.
During the visit Assistant Commissioner
Ahmadpur east Rana Amjad Ali briefed the Provincial Minister Co-Operative about
the arrangements at Ramzan Bazar.

Review meeting of the performance of price control
magistrates
BAHAWALPUR(PR)A fine to the tune of Rs. 2 lakh and 33
thousand was imposed; 8 FIRs got registered; 28 offenders were arrested for
violating during 78 raids conducted by price control magistrates in Bahawalpur
district during the ongoing drive under price control act; anti-adulteration
campaign and enforcement of Ehtram-e-Ramzan ordinance in Bahawalpur district.
This was stated by District Co-Ordination officer Dr. Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar
while presiding over a review meeting of the performance of price control
magistrates in a meeting held in his conference room. During the meeting
District Co-Ordination Officer was briefed by the concerned officials that
under the ongoing drive a fine to the tune of Rs. 1 lakh and 33 thousand was
imposed; 3 FIRs got registered; 2 offenders got arrested under price control
act; and 14 offenders were arrested; 5 FIRs got registered and a fine to the
tune of Rs. 44 thousand was imposed upon the violators of Ehtram-e-Ramzan
ordinance. Similarly, under anti-adulteration campaign a sum of a fine to the
tune of Rs. 62 thousand was imposed and 1 hotel was sealed in Bahawalpur
district.
While addressing the meeting DCO Dr. Ehtisham
Anwer Mahaar directed the price control magistrates to focus their complete
attention to fully implement price control act and Ehtram-e-Ramzan ordinance
both to achieve the targets of providing quality food stuff at cheaper rates
and to ensure the sanctity of the holy month of Ramzan.
