BAHAWALPUR(PR)Secretary District Regional Transport authority
Bahawalpur has said that a crack-down against over-loading has been launched
both against public transport and good services to ensure safe and secure
journey in district Bahawalpur. He made these remarks while addressing to the
owners of public transport and goods services in his office.
"Safe journey is linked with adhering to
traffic rules and regulations whose violation puts under threat the precious
lives. So strict and vigorous campaign has been launched by regional transport
authority", he underlined.
He directed the owners of public and goods
transport to affix public awareness banners and pamphlets at prominent places
at Bus stands and the terminal of goods transport. Secretary, RTA, Tanveer
Jhandeer also informed the participants that a fine to the tune of Rs. 1 lakh
55 thousand and 600 under the on-going drive against over-loading during which
as many as 310 vehicles were checked and 74 violators were challaned while 38
vehicles were impounded during the 6 days of the current month.
PHA has granted
permission to the ladies and children to
visit the park of special children

permission to the ladies and children under age 12 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM to
visit the park which was earlier reserved only for special children. This was
stated in a statement issued by the spokes person of Parks and horticulture
authority.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja paid a surprise visit
of Ramzan bazar at Yazman city. He went to different stalls of kitchen items;
soft drinks; vegetables; fruits; meat and chicken. MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja
checked both the quality of the food stuff and the implementation of
concessionary price regime framed by Punjab Government. Mr. Jajja while talking
to consumers at Ramzan Bazar informed them that Chief Minister Punjab has
further subsidize both gram pulse and gram flour to Rs. 10 per Kg which has
lowered the price of these 2 items to Rs. 20 per Kg as compare to the prevailing
market rates. He maintained that this deduction in prices of these 2 items is
an ample proof of Chief Minister Punjab's dedication and commitment to extend
economic relief by implementing concessionary prices at Ramzan Bazar during the
holy month of Ramzan in Punjab province. He also invited to the consumers to
lodge their complaints regarding any inconvenience of problems both pertaining
to quality and prices of food stuff to TMA officials of Yazman at toll free
number:- 0800-02345.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)As many as 1595 deserving persons were provided
Iftaar dinner at Madni Dasterkhawans which has been established by the local
administration with a financial collaboration of philanthropists and different
organizations in district Bahawalpur. This was stated by Additional district
Collector Ms. Imrana Ajmal in a statement issued regarding the functioning of
Madni Dasterkhawans.
According to details out of these 1595
deserving people which were provided Aftari in different tehsils of the
district include:- 610 from Bahawalpur city; 314 from Tibba Badar Shair; 140 in Tehsil
Hasilpur; 160 in Tehsil Yazman; 181 in Ahmad Pur Sharqia; 120 in Uch Sharif and
70 in tehsil Khairpur Tamewali.
At Aftaar dinners the Fasting persons were
served with chicken curry; Naan; Soft drinks; cooked rice; dates and fruits.
ADC Ms. Imrana Ajmal further said that a total
sum of Rs. 169000 has been contributed by different philanthropists and
representatives of business community which include: - Flour Mills
associations; Petrol Pumps associations; Poltery associations and Anjuman
Tajran.
She highly appreciated both enthusiasts and
dedicated endeavor of these organizations for extending financial assistance to
serve needy men and women with Aftaari at these Madni dasterkhawans.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Dr. Ehtasham Anwar Mahar has called
upon Price Control Magistrates to gear up their derive to check the
mal-practice of overcharging and hoarding by the profiteers to protect the
economic rights of millions consumers in District Bahawalpur. He issued these
directions while presiding over a high level meeting held at his in office
connection with daily review of the performance of the Price Control
Magistrates in Bahawalpur during the Holy month of Ramzan.
“To protect the economic
rights of the consumers to no effort
should be spared by the Price Control Magistrates and they should have a strict
vigil to strictly enforce Price Control Act to stream-line the cheaper price
regime meant for the consumer at Ramzan Bazars” , he underlined.
District Coordination officer was briefed in the meeting by
Assistant Commissioners that a fine to the tune of Rs. 1,70,900 was imposed
against the profiteers in a single day in 5 Tehsils of District Bahawalpur. The
total sum of fine of Rs. 1,17,900 imposed in 5 Tehsils of District Bahawalpur
includs:- Rs.37 thousands in Bahawalpur city; Rs.4 thousands in Bahawalpur
Tehsil Saddar; Rs.28 thousands in Ahmed Pur Sharkia; Rs.15,500 in Hasilpur;
Rs.17400 Tehsil Yazman and Rs. 9,500 In Khairpur Tamewali
District Coordination Officer expressed the
satisfaction over the performance Price Control Magistrates; however, he hoped
that Price Control Magistrates would further enhance both quantum and quality
of their performance to safeguard the economic rights of the consumers by
strictly implementing the Price Control Act in District Bahawalpur.
