BAHAWALPUR(PR)PMLN leader Dr. Ayesha Abdullah has said that Punjab
Government is completing 10 mega schemes by spending a sum of Rs. 7220.822
millions to augment and modernize the irrigation network which is aimed to
ensure adequate supply of water to boost agro productivity in irrigation sector
of Bahawalpur zone. This massive allocation of more than 7 billion rupees in
irrigation sector is the practical manifestation of turning Chief Minister
Punjab's vision to turn southern Punjab into a solid food basket.
Dr. Ayesha Abdullah said that Chief Minister Punjab is
committed to streamline irrigation network on modern scientific lines which
would ensure abundance of water to irrigate the crops which would boost the
yielding of crops.
"This long term agro vision would lead to
establish a solid food security regime in the country", Dr. Ayesha
Abdullah believed.
"Modern and state of the art irrigation network
is vital to bring in line Pakistan's agriculture sector with the modern
requirements to meet the colossal challenges of food security", she noted.
"To ensure socio economic prosperity of around 90
million peasants who toil day and night to grow major and minor crops which
creates 45 percent of our GDP would get directly benefitted from the ongoing
process of modernizing of irrigation in Bahawalpur zone.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Saqib Zafar has
directed the concerned officials of Cattle Management Company to initiate
strict legal action against running of illegal cattle markets in Bahawalpur
division. He issued these directions while presiding over a high level meeting
of Cattle Management Company at his office, on Tuesday. The meeting was
attended by MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, MPA Umer Jaafir Gujjar, DCO Bahawalpur Dr.
Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, Additional Commissioner Saqib Ali Ateel, Professor of Veterinary
college Dr. Umer Farooq, MD Cattle Management Company Waqar Ahmad and other
officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The meeting elaborated in detail to devise an
effective and result oriented strategy regarding fully operationalizing the
cattle management company. The meeting has a detailed discussion regarding
provision of proper building equipped with adequate staff and transport
facilities for the employees of Cattle Management Company.
Commissioner Bahawalpur while addressing the meeting
said that live stock plays a vital role in our agro based economy. Therefore,
government was fully committed to extend all facilities to the formers to raise
live stock.
"Cattle management company should have a close vigil
to ensure high hygienic environment through special cleanliness drive at the
cattle markets in Bahawalpur division", Commissioner Saqib Zafar noted.
Saqib Zafar further stressed upon the officials of the
Cattle Management Company to maintain proper record of sale and purchase of the
cattle at the cattle markets.

celebrate 69th Independence Day's celebration in district Bahawalpur would be
held on August 13th. This was decided in a meeting to review the Independence
Day celebration day arrangements held under the chairmanship of Additional
District Collector Mrs. Imrana Ajmal, on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner
Bahawalpur city Rao Tasleem Akhter, EDOs and Heads of private academic institutions
and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The meeting review in detailed the flag hosting
ceremony, staging of public independence parade, running of industrial cultural
floats, singing of national songs and holding of first Nishan-e-Bahawalpur
awards giving ceremony.
Additional District Collector Mrs. Imrana Ajmal noted
that all departments should play their vigorous role enthusiastically which
would practically manifest their commitment regarding celebrations on Independence
Day.
The participants assured the chair that they would
contribute with dedication and commitment in making the Independence Day celebration
a great success.

BAHAWALPUR(PR)District Coordination Officer Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtisham
Anwer Mahaar has constituted a high power committee to evaluate the 3 years Matriculation
examination results performance to ensure improvement in the performance of
state run academic institutions in district Bahawalpur.
DCO would be the chairman of the committee while
District officer Coordination, EDO education, TMO and all district education
officers has been designated as member of the committee.
"The committee has been mandated to review in
detail the deep rooted and inbuilt causes of low performance visa vise the
results of the Matriculation examination of state run academic facilities in
district Bahawalpur", The meeting vowed.
DCO maintained that strict disciplinary actions would
be initiated against heads of institutions whose 3 years performance in Matriculation
results would be found unsatisfactory and below the marks.
Besides, DCO assured the participants that
appreciation certificates and awards would also be awarded to those heads of
academic institutions that produced excellent results in Matriculations exams
2016.
DCO also assured that better posting would also be
awarded to the best achievers as a mark of appreciation for their excellent
services in education.
